  • stunning

  • absolutely beautiful.

  • It looks like you are running this choir in the same vein as Sandy Valerio did in Northport., which is to say with a reverence for the music and the act of singing. You're giving your students memories they will never forget. Kudos!

  • beautiful I would give you 5 stars but rating is disabled ..

  • awesome!!! you guys have a awesome choir and a awesome show choir as well

  • wonderful job! :D

  • The tune is based off of the Quaker song "Simple Gifts". Copland used a variation of Simple Gifts in Appalachian Spring. So both this hymn and Copland's work are base on the Quaker song. Copland did not base his work off of this hymn, both merely share the same source material

  • You sound GREAT and should be proud of what you and your choral director have done!!! JOB WELL DONE

  • Wow.. phenominal talent for high schoolers, beautifully sung

  • It doesn't really matter who started the original tune....this version is great!

  • sweet!

  • The real name of this tune is simple gifts by

Joseph Bracket 1797 you can hear it played on

audiosparx by searching for simple gifts.

This is just a rip off.

  • Amazing that people are uppity about things like this. Well!!! The song was hardly known for years and years and years until American composer Aaron Copland used the melody in his composition "Appalachian Spring" (I'm truly sorry if you feel that is a rip off too). The music and original lyrics are by Joseph Brackett. You are correct. The lyrics to a song "Lord of the Dance" (BASED upon the tune) were written by Sydney Carter in 1963. This arrangement by Larry Fleming followed later.

  • People are uppity because someone always has to know more than the other guy. Great arrangement and great singing, but I thought Disney didn't permit the performance of sacred pieces.

  • Thank you. But as to Disney not permitting the performance of sacred music? Where on earth did you hear that? I can tell you from experience that that is not true at all. In fact, the majority of the music I have performed at Disney has been sacred. In fact, the directors at The Disney Honors (their top choral festival) don't allow the pop stuff many choirs tend to do these days. For pop repertoire, they will suggest another of their festivals- Festival Disney.

  • For the win!

  • Absolutely breathtaking the way you all sing.

  • very very very good wonderful good luck in the future

  • I love everything that this school does. Where is it located

  • Very Enjoyable!!!

  • we did this song in the choir I'm in, only it was a different version. great job! I love it! XD
