I really enjoy Ren faires and other "historical" reenactment events. They are fun and sometimes educational. Slowly though, the over-the-top silliness is what is starting to drive us away. The biggest catalyst, the "fairies" and such that... have no place at a reenactment event. This is a not a fantasy and sci-fi convention. Oi! It so diminishes the event and the reason why I have met so many people who have gone once and will never attend again.

I went to this faire (my first one, too!) last October...purely amazing! XD
I didn't ever see that fairy guy though...mmm, he looks smexy. LOL!

Did you go to the Carolina faire or the North Carolina faire? The Carolina faire is in Huntersville, NC and the NC faire is in Raleigh, NC.. These people were probably at the NC faire cause I always go to the Carolina faire and I've never seen any of them before... The Carolina faire is in Oct & Nov.. the NC faire is in March & April I believe.
