Dogs are like kids, they learn from their parents and want to be just like them. They will remain loyal to their family no matter how...abusive or aggressive the owners are. People need to understand that it is a great injustice to animals who turn to their owners as their support system and are actually being betrayed. A dog learns very quickly and it just breaks my heart to see people teach them the wrong values when all dog species are capable of being loving and caring best friends.

Security has been bread into my dog through generations to the point where he feels the need to protect our home from even the most passive passerbys. There are have been many times where serial killers actually grew up in good families in good neighborhoods and went to good schools. Force it under the turf with a hammer to your neighbor's dog pen and force antifreeze through the pipe so that a puddle forms in the pen. Do it late at night when rain is expected. The dog will lap up the antifreeze and die, the rain will wash away the evidence. No one will know where the antifreeze came from.
The officers' failure to shoot the dog could have resulted in another person being injured before they caught it. Usually, an attacking pit bull will keep attacking until it is stopped.

If you have a neighbor that has a pit bull that has threatened you or your family, I would urge you to get a long pvc pipe. Force it under the turf with a hammer to your neighbor's dog pen and force antifreeze through the pipe so that a puddle forms in the pen. Do it late at night when rain is expected. The dog will lap up the antifreeze and die, the rain will wash away the evidence. No one will know where the antifreeze came from.

The attack must be met with correction DURING or BEFORE the attack. Since the owner thinks it funny, it won't be before. If the officer had drawn his taser upon noticing the dog and tased him, the dog would neither have left the scene, nor finished the attack.

@jougetsu Being around dogs my whole life and growing up with a father that works in Customs K-9. It is easy to tell that the dog was being aggressive. Though this is not the dogs fault, but on his owners that never gave him proper training and walking him out on walks everyday so he can be a social dog. The officer did want he had to do without killing the dog.
