I will never understand why God was ready to take Heath Ledger from this life. Maybe Heath was ready for some peace. 2008 & 2009 could have become the best years of his life and to see his daughter again.

That's a shame. God would just drop dead to hear** people dissing homos. He created everyone to be equal. They just take out homo's for publicity. It's a shame that you can no longer find a decent human being in this world. Anyways tuf is right. It's foolish to go fight a war when you don't know anything.

Um did you actually watch the film? The person whose life is ruined is Ennis - all because he loved someone he couldn't have. Although sad for his family they rebuild they lives - it's Ennis whose left all alone in a trailer park with only his memories - so yeah i'd say that is a bit tragic.

you're right about that, Ennis is destroyed, but I think that all four people involved came out of it poorly. I think only his daughter, the next generation, had any understanding of the entire situation and the ability to cope

As far as going to Iraq goes, killing bad guys is what they military does, and soldiers make up about 1% of the entire USA population, so to me they have a higher calling and are in general a better class of people than your average US citizen.

The military when called out to do its duty is to kill bad people and break things. Be thankful that you have a military to protect you.

well of course we had to get involved in WWII...we were thrust into it. destroying evil is, of course, good. i just have problems with war and naive kids killing for something they don't even understand

Tuf-- If a individual soldier doesnt have a clue as to whats going on about current events, and is ignorant thats on him, he would be an exception not the rul when it comes to soldiers. the soldiers I knew and worked with were knowledgeable.

i'm not saying that soldiers don't know what's happening in the short term. i'm not thinking they're stupid, but the reasons for the war have nothing to do with them. however, they're the ones who die. ...and they're generally too young to even think about things more than "love of country"

I guess you havent been in the military, but its very close quarters in which people do things, and taking a shower in an open area with 30 other people at one time, and knowing some fellow soldier of the same sex is getting sexually aroused by being near other naked men is demoralizing.
