My brother is a US Marine, and when he went to Iraq i cried cuz i didn't know what was going to happen. He's home now,with a fiancee and a baby, and doing well. My brother was in the Army for 5 years he got honorable discharged he dislocated his shoulder 5 times...The best thing I've done is become a Volunteer firefighter an I say god bless the firemen that lost there lives during 9/11....Always remember 343 thats how many firefighters died

My only advice is that you research all of the branches of the military before you make your decision. I support you in your decision. I was the same as you. I enlisted in the Mass National Guard (Currently in the RSP Battalion waiting on my ship date to Basic). The military is either in your blood or its not. It sounds hokey, but follow what your gut and your heart tell you. Think it through though, educate yourself about the military, and ESPECIALLY the benefits that serving has to offer.

My husband is a Marine Corps recruiter and he deals with makes and females changing their minds all the time b/c mommy and daddy said no. It's ridiculous. Do it for you, not for them
