I recently purchased the One Life To Live Special Farewell Issue and discovered the character of Carla and her portrayer Ellen Holly and read about how important she was in bringing in the ratings that cemented OLTL as one the premier soaps ever. It is a shame that Ms. Holly was treated so terribly especially since her casting, acting, and beauty were so vital to the show. The network should not have erased those beginning episodes and she should be thought of in the same breath as Viki/Niki.
I'm stretching my memory to the max, but wasn't there Viki's father in the early episodes? Mr. Lord? Does anyone know who played him, or for how many years he was on? And what about Price and Carla? Seems to me they were the original superstar "couple" of soaps! What years were they on?
Victor Lord was played by Ernest Graves from 1968-1974 then Sheppard Strudwick from 1974- 1976when he died because Dorian withheld his medication. Back then he was written as a devoted but stern father who loved his family and was overprotective of his girls Viki and Meredith. He even searched for years to locate his illegitimate son Tony Harris Lord, who died in the early 80's. Amazing how they've changed his character.
Jim Price was only on a few years but Carla was on and off until 1985.

No problem! I know Claire Malis played Dorian briefly from 1978-79 before Strasser took over the role. I think there was one other actress who played Dorian as well. I'll have to check.
Here's some more info for you. Dixie Carter (ex-Brandy Henderson, EON) was a temporary recast in the role in 1974. After Robin left OLTL in 1987, Elaine Princi took over the role for four years before Robin came back in 1993.
Honestly,when I first saw this opening theme from the beginning era of OLTL, I thought it was the original opening with the flashing faces of Llanview residents on the canvas of the time, just like in the 80's,90's and even now. This is a very well done custom creative opening! I'm sure Ms. Agnes Nixon and the folks that help create the original would love it! I wonder if they had thought about adding flashing faces of Llanview back then.

Do you remember if Dorian's character was Robin Strasser at the time that Dorian withheld Victor's medication ala 1976? I've always wondered. Thanks!

Dorian was played by Nancy Pinkerton in 1976; Robin was on "All My Children" from 1976-79; she didn't join OLTL until 1979.

No, but in 1995, they did an excellent flashback with Robin Strasser portraying Dorian witholding his medication. It was powerful.
