  • You should also make the point that if the stamp is older than WWII it might be worth the investigation to see if the stamp is worth more leaving it on the envelope of leaving the cancellation visible on the original paper and not soak at all.

  • Nice job. You point out two very important points. Luke-warm water and color run from stationary. If you have a bit more money you can purchase a small stamp press which is usually less than $10 to put the stamps in and press out the wrinkles or curls in a matter of minutes.
