  • Nobuo didn't compose for FF13, did he? I can tell... They coulda atleast kept the standard victory fanfare...

  • This song is truly inspiring. The bittersweet, tragic, beautiful atmosphere...what software do they use to create this? I would love to create music like this

  • Gatta didn't make it in my FFX story. Luzzu im so sorry.

  • type in rainy mood on google, click play....wow! no words.

  • I listen to this and remember Tidus and Yuna standing and gazing at the Zanarkand ruins, it's dusk and you can see...almost *feel* the gentle breeze going through their hair. Whenever I listen to this I can't help but feel that I'll never truly belong in the world we live in in comparison to Spira.

  • @Revaris PATHETIC.

  • @CryInTheAttic If you're telling me you've never wished for something better then you yourself are pathetic. Go kill yourself please kthxbai.

  • @Revaris You used the wrong "then," which makes it apparent why you would think a video game is worth more than you are.

  • @CryInTheAttic There's only one 'then' in the english language. You also misread what I typed, and in the first place I was simply referring to the sense of meaning you feel playing the game as well as all of the colourful and interesting things, the real world doesn't really have anything to compare to that when you live in western society, so it feels boring and pointless by comparison. /Done arguing over a simple relatable comment.

  • @Revaris Well, if you believe there are no homophones between than and then, THEN you used the wrong word, thus bringing us back to you being not only stupid, but pathetic.

  • @CryInTheAttic You know looking back over this whole thing I think to myself why am I even bothering with this, you're a big enough asshole to start something like this so that says plenty for me, I'm sure you'll have a response but I simply won't give a fuck. So you might as well let everyone else watch this in peace and I hope the uploader deletes this whole stupid ass conversation.

  • "This was my new reality and i was stuck in it for good."

After what they just went thtough on that boat and eventually Djose...i just HAD to keep playing...w asgo ingo i was goi

  • WISH THEY MAKE GAMES LIKE THIS MORE OFTEN .... ONCE U PLAY FFX, U CAN NEVER FORGET THE FEELING .....

  • Ah i loved playing this game so much. I had the unbeatable blitzball team, had numrick? from al behd physc or w/e as my goalkeeper. Had nearly 400+ hours played and most of it was blitzball.

  • Time for some tai chi or yoga

  • It takes talent to make a clarinet sound haunting. Kudos, composers.

  • I can't be the only one here who didn't particularly love or hate the game, but thought the music was good.

  • Man, whenever I hear this song I think of all the disctuction after Operation Mi'hin. Meanwhile, Gipple, Nooj and Barali are runnign for it so they don't get offed either.

  • Legendary game

  • one of the few games that ive cried to

  • Beautiful, solemn, and so peaceful

  • This song automatically puts me in a state of mind where my body and mind wants to float on a cloud and just take in what ive been through and accept everything for what it was; beautiful song

  • For some reason, I find this to be the most relaxing of all the FF songs.

  • This song is my absolute favorite from the soundtrack...it just...does something to me. Makes me think about so many things...happy memories, sad memories, loving memories....any memory...People who have come, and gone throughout your life. Changes within the people in your life, yourself...Everything. This song brings tears to my eyes...the simplicity in emotion expressed here takes my breath away...you know?

  • Gives me the shivers up my spine everytime. It's just so relaxing.

I wish I had found this song during Summer, it would of been perfect to listen to on a sunny day looking up into the blue sky whilst laying alone in some far off field.

  • i can just imagine it.. staring towards the twilight lit sea... with the stars beginning to appear... the birds flying towards their nests.. the wind blowing on ur face..and the sun slowly setting ....

  • This song makes a good stress reliever to me!

  • totally Bladerunner vibes here.

  • Those who turned from Yevon died while the faithful live on

  • The song is so sad

  • @Hammi919 Sad but yet peaceful too!

  • So peaceful...

  • all one can do when listening to this is to reminisce

  • Fucking Sin destroying everything and then this music starts to play. Too sad.

  • Makes me just wanna float in the water as the sun bakes me....

  • DAMN YOU SIN!!!!

  • The Djose highroad is my greatest gaming moment, I was 14, I remember turning on the ps2 past midnight to play this game on a school night. Because I couldn't sleep - all I could think about is this game. Wow, I wish I could delete my memory and play this game again

  • @Tinnyalla I did the same thing

  • when this song plays after sinspawn gui i was like, it totally sounds like a wreckage site, then when i talked to Gatta (i get Luzza and Gatta muddled up but i'm gonna go with Gatta) he was like NOOOO LUZZU DIED and i was like ;_;

  • Man, that's more then epic.

  • I think FFX was the peak of the Final Fantasy series. Still enjoyed the games after, but as far as actual story telling goes, this game is it.

  • I gave away my PS2 when i got myself a PS3 (January 2009). In December 2010 i bought myself a PS2 again, just because of FFX. I was browsing FFX soundtracks on YouTube and i just couldn't holt it anymore. I know most ppl. say FF7 was the best but FFX is defenetly the most emotional and the most epic and songs like this one are one of the reasons for that. I still haven't played any other FF or RPG which cought me so much.

  • i always drift off to sleep with this

  • I want a massage to this

  • this game took me for a roller coaster ride.. but i loved every minute of it. :)

  • This reminds me that life isn't complex, we are.

  • @HardBoiledYoshi I wanna thumbs up that 100000x! Brilliant saying!

  • What gets me, though, is we gotta suffer cause of what some goofballs did way back when. Course we must always repent for our sins.

  • Try having sex to this song, marvin gaye ain't go shit on Nobuo Uematsu.

  • What I would give to be on one giant plain. Away from this sadness and war. And evil.

  • the one who disliked this song...

your wandering flame shall flicker out.

  • u know,if i die and going to sent somewhere good....

i choose spira with no doubt :)

  • When I hear this song, I feel as though I'm teleported to a ruined city, I can feel the cold wind on my neck, the sun rising above a peak of a mountain, and in that moment, I know, I understand what it means to be alive. Its, as if all my sorrow vanishes before my eyes and I feel happy, happy to be alive, yet sad as I mourn the dead... Its then I realize, our reality isn't so different from our fantasies... all things must come to an end, and so we should make a meaning for everything here...

  • @Genesis125XCrimson You're gay

  • Sounds very peaceful.

  • Can you hear the soft sound of the endless night?

The pale moon carresses every star as if it were an individual lover with life bursting out, creating the heavens above, the gods blessing us by lighting a wick which is the day and when the wick dies, the lights go out and mother earth shows us the beatufiful, individual night, awaiting to be lived by the summers youth.

Have you appreciated this ever lasting gift given to us unknowingly?

  • Take a moment and relax on the cool grass, feel the breeze of the night pulsating through your body, and focus all of your attention to the heavens.

Create with your mind and learn by the stars.

They reveal the Earth's wonders and secrets.

Extract the feelings of the skies and earth.

Can you feel it, can you see it, can you hear it now?

  • the sun is setting.

  • I used to hate final fantasy X when I first played it. After I beat it, it was one of the greatest games on earth to me.

  • i just had a bad break-up and this song really helps. its nice how music can make things ........ easier for you to handle when your feeling down but it can also make you feel ... content

  • I love this game... "game"... it doesn't seem just a game...

  • Beautiful. This song is just amazing. The feeling you get when listening to it is beyond this world; words can not describe the energy that is felt from this soundtrack.

  • I forgot how good FFX's soundtrack was. Been years since I played it. How silly of me.

  • see this is wat ff13 needs man! just listen, its beautiful makes me think but also sad, its sik i luv this song, any tutorials plz im beggin

  • my favorite theme on final fantasy x

  • sitting on a beach, watching the sunset....

  • i love this one too. it's so jazz-y and mellow and sad. but at the same it, i feel that its filled with hope

  • Album Leaf - Malmo. Give a listen. Very similar.

  • this is my favorite! i've been looking for this song for awhile now. Glad I know what it's called now =)

  • damn good song, auron sitting outside the farplane, the "jecht is sin" part, damn is just too good

  • You also hear this song whenever you visit the Farplane... the song definately calms me, especially when you're looking at the Farplane in the game.

  • wow another great theme - the soundtrack is definitely strongest in this game around that northern area

  • Sad, yet beautiful.

  • I think I read someone else say this somewhere, but I would agree: This is definitely something I would want playing at my Funeral. Is fits perfectly with a sending off ceremony. Sad, yet beautiful.....

  • I always like this song. When I come from a long day at work I always listen to this song. It calms me. And makes it easier for me to fall asleep too.

  • the title really does match this song :)

  • running down that long hill to Zanarkand listening to this knowing that things are about to get tragic... perfect just perfect

  • does anyone know of any other songs like this or what genre of music it is? I can;t find any other songs like this. Please help

  • i think this is ambient

  • well Wandering Flame was produced by Masashi Hamauzu. so if you like this music - try listen to his others!

  • Song makes me cry when Im sad but it feels good song is like nurturing

  • This game is easily the most emotional game out there. The feelings of hate, despair, love, happiness, and wonder are all expressed so well in these songs. The great graphics are a bonus to the songs. This could be one of the greatest games ever made.

  • Could be? No, it IS one of the greatest games ever made. This will probably always be my favorite Final Fantasy game.

  • @TamayoMeri I seriously think X and XII are underrated. So many FF fans flock to and rant about VII, but X and XII are definitely quality games in their own rights. VIII, X and XII makes my "holy trinity" of FF.

  • @dandanthepumpkinman X is not underrated. Everyone knows it's a very good FF.

XII is... not a good FF. Maybe a good game but not a good FF.

VIII is nice but, come on, the story is about a 17 years old dark fighter who go to school, then try to murder a sorceress and then you're in space.

  • @DocteurMelheck You really didn't pay much attention to VIII's story did you?

  • @AutumnCrusader It wasn't really interesting. Even when I try, the story is ridiculous and really really screwed up (past present future sorceress into one to destroy the world and then THE WHOLE UNIVERSE TO BE FOREVER ALOOOONE HAHAHAHAAHA, wat). That game came up with the best minigame ever though.

It's only my opinion, but it really wasn't a good story.

  • @DocteurMelheck Ultimecia had a childhood filled with nothing but hate and torment

She wanted to compress time into a world were only her and her control of time would effectively exist, so she would be alone, the solitary existance

To her mind, a safe haven from all the pain and at the same time a revenge against the humanity that had hurt her so

    Hense the time compression

  • @AutumnCrusader Really? I don't remember anything about the past of Ultimecia. Are you sure it is said in the game?

    I'm pretty sure it isn't.

  • @DocteurMelheck The speech she gives, while possessing Edea, to the people of Deling City at the end of Disc 1, she goes on about how she has suffered at the hands of humanity and with have her revenge on mankind

  • @AutumnCrusader Hmmm, I forgot then. I only remember her talking about killing mankind.

(With the people totally happy and okay with that)

  • @DocteurMelheck "Look at you all, praising the one you have hunted and tortured for generations"

Problem with VIII was, a lot of details were subtle and people didn't pick up on them or didn't link them to other facts

Like Laguna being Squall's father for example

  • @AutumnCrusader Erm that was only about sorceresses, not really her precisely.

    Laguna was obvious.

  • @DocteurMelheck Theres other lines

    I'm just giving an example

It's also subtly mentioned in Dissidia when one fights against the Shade Impulse Ultimecia without using Squall

  • @AutumnCrusader I don't remember neither. Too much time since I did Shade Impulse. I'll do it again.

  • @TamayoMeri so true. Between all the FF VIII and X are still the best... but when I listen to these songs I just can't help it. I wanna play it again and again. This theme "Wandering Flame" is one of the best. It's like you can feel the sadness. makes you wonder about so many things.

  • @TamayoMeri

    this is so true...

  • @TamayoMeri Too bad it looks like crap in my current HDTV. It's impossible to play PS2 on other then standard tube TV's

  • @aguering

I used component cables and it looks fantastic.

  • @brendude95 @brendude95 really ? I never got ps2 to look good in 1080p screens. I find it better to run on emulator, but currently theres a lot of glitches in most games. Maybe in the future. Today, they look fantastic but run slow. Hopefully they will release it in PSN soon ;D

  • @aguering

When you use component cables, it's still SD but it removes artifacting and blur, it looks pretty great, especially if your TV is correctly calibrated. You are right, emulation does look even better. You are probably having lag because your graphics card is outdated or the internal resolution is set far too high, I can get up to 200fps in some areas of FFX on PCSX2.

And even better news, they recently announced a full retail remake for FFX.

    /watch?v=WD5IhjqTiNM

  • @TamayoMeri Its not.

  • @Corehoofify I respect your opinion on my comment made two years ago, although I'd like to understand your personal views on such.

  • This song makes me extremely melancholic.

But I like it so muuuuch. T_T

  • Exactly. This game tugs on the heart strings more than any other game out there. Yeah FFVII had its sadness with Aeriths dead but the this game changes in emotion so often your spinning!

  • Honestly FFX will always be my favorite...then FF7 but I mean they just dragged out FF7 waaay too long...I remember nearly crying when Aerith (Aeris) died in FF7, now when I hear about a new FF7 game I'm just like "oh...here we go again..."

  • whenever I get angry or stressed, this always calms me down.

  • yeah man thats what im trying to relieve right now

  • I doubt it

  • this is one of the best songs for final fantasy. this is when tiudis found out that sin is jet. one of the best scene in video games history. anyone disagree????

  • somtimes i lisn to this because i cant really face the real world so this helps me relax =]

  • this song is very emotional great game

  • It really makes you think about past memories. Deceased loved ones, someone you love, friends you share a brotherhood or a sisterhood with.

Very touching, sometimes saddening, relaxing...man this song just gives me a natural high every time I listen to it.

  • this makes me feel cold and relaxed and not have to worry about anything =] ffx for ever!

  • When I die, I hope I end up in a place like that. It looks amazing, even for a video game.

  • Welcome to the Farplane...

Sometimes, I go to the farplane just to listen to this =]

  • -_-

  • yea your right but you have to aidmit its a very touching song...

  • I can feel Tidus' sadness.

  • @HiroChanTheGentleman same here

  • you feel so much form this song....

  • yeah, and i love this song ~
