@upallhours9 I have tried the beta of Windows 8. To answer your question as to why some people do the betas, I guess I am curious to what new tech is bringing to the table. I use windows, I use linux, and I use Mac OS. I have been into all this geek shit since I was old enough to read so I am in it for the long haul. I think Windows 7 is the best OS MS has put out to date. I am not really digging the Windows 8 thing. The way I look at it is its a skin over win 7 for tablet or touchscreen users.
@namizmo Sounds good to me. I only have 1 Windows pc running XPsp3. That is just runniny my Magic Jack phone line. The minute I can rig Linux to do that, no Windows machines here.
I like apple, but they are too expensive for what you get. Also, they are too exclusive, unlike Android with massive apps-most are free, also can go to apple app store.
I see very little diff with W8 over W7 from screen shots.
I'm trying out windows 7 on a laptop. It has a few new features, but mosly it's a minor revision of Vista. I use vista, because I need it for my accounting software. I'd switch to Linux entirely otherwise.
In all fairness, I'm used to using the unstable releases for Linux software. Very similar to working with a beta, but it gives you the latest features.
i had my doubts when installing windows 7 beta just as a test running alongside vista, i assumed nothing would work properly with it. and i defiantly thought id be having troubles with drivers.
however, i have formatted the hard drive and run exclusively on the beta for now, for a number of reasons, not least of which is the speed increase in all applications and general responsiveness. This goes hand in hand with every driver(which it found the latest version of on its own) and program working.
windows 7 best MS os yet IMHO

@namizmo It seems to be okay. Am still using Linux myself.
I understand Windows 8 is in the works...

Windows 7 has been released as beta and so far it is very stable and lighter compared to vista but is still not as stable as ubuntu linux :)
