  • Video was well done thanks.

  • Yes, Latinprincess is exacly correct. Even "glycerin" soap was made with Lye.

The trick is not to use too much lye or superfat the soap to avoid a harsh soap.

  • @Latinprincess-- YES!! You MUST use Lye to make soap!!

The lye mixed with the oils, glycerin and fatty acids produces a chemical reaction to produce soap- - - No Lye- No Soap!

  • do you really need LYE to make a soap? and is it dangerous for skin is so i read...i rather do a glycerin with no lye soap..i need to know more about this...

  • how can you make it cleaner looking?

  • By cleaner I assume you mean the brown color. Many natural products do not have the coloring you may be used to. However there are things you can do to lighten the color of our BDG soaps. But that is a topic for another video.

  • Great video, but you did'nt mention what temperture the lye should be before pouring into the oils.

  • Thanks donna,

We are processing at near HP temperatures so the lye temperature is not as important as it is in normal cold processing. CP in this case just means that we are not going to continue heating through the gel stage.

  • please explain gel stage

  • great video

  • Thanks!

We think it's a lot of fun.

We hope to keep improving the kit and make more kits and videos available in the near future.

  • This looks like a fun project
