Great video, easy & cheap. Do you repair your own K.M. and if so do you have any tips on repairing my carriage on my Singer Memo-matic 328, does not move from stockinette, skip or tuck, or change tension? Also, do you know where I can locate a manual & instructions on this machine and the ribber SRP-50.
Again thank you for taking the time to video and share your knowledge on M.K.
Hi, Thanks I hope it helps. I still think people need to buy the real deal when they can or when they are available. Doesn't mean you shouldn't have a refurb hanging around for when you need it.
I repair my machine beds when I feel 100% Comfortable doing it. If the carriage problem is clearly obvious and repairable at a 100% comfort level I would fix that too.
Contact your local dealer for info on the best repair people near you. A dealer can also help you get the manual you need.
After seeing these videos I will be refurbishing rather than replacing spongebars in the future...so much easier than the written instructions led me to believe!! Thanks so much for your excellent videos.

Wonderful! That's a whole lot cheaper than buying a new sponge bar!

I wear latex gloves when I do mine. I used Scotch tape on each end to hold the ribbon ends. It works fine.
