First. is it possible to do the entire body? like 80% of the body. and how much would that cost? and also is it possible to do the treatment before hand in a area were there is no hair, so it don't grow again?
@saeedsnne yes it is possible to treat the entire body although some clinics might not do it.
The pricing ranges dramatically based on several factors such as geographical location and the type of equipment the clinic uses.
Treatment in areas without curent hair growth would prove to be ineffective. This is because the laser targets hair in the follicle and if there is no hair in the testament are the laser has nothing to target.
@LebaneseGirl3058 Hair grows in three different stages, anagen, catagen and telogen. Because the hair can only be targeted in one of these stages (anagen) you need to have a series of treatments. Depending on the area the treatments are usually spaced 812 weeks apart and it usually takes 3-6 treatments to reduce all the hair in a particular area. In between treatments you should be hair-free and as the treatments progress you will begin to see less and less hair. (*With a real laser not an IPL)
@brackenjo Laser Hair Removal is FDA approved for permanent hair reduction. Results vary depending on the individual being treated. Some people see great results with no regrowth. Others see a little regrowth of hair which is finer and there is much less of it. Another important thing to keep in mind is that new growth of hair cannot be prevented. So if an individual has some sort of hormonal change Laser Hair Removal cannot prevent new hair growth.
I went for my first laser treatment yesterday for full face. Normally my roots start growing the next day but some haven't come out today, it depends on the thickness of the hair, skin type etc, i might need more then 6 treatments, ill just have to wait and find out.
I have had 4 treatments out of 6, the 1st 2 treatments were effective as the laser was on the highest setting (leaving me with heat spots as i have very sensitive skin) I went for my 3rd and 4th treatment they put it on a very low setting 'to target the light hairs' when i go in for my 5th treatment i will tell them to put it back on the highest setting. (sometimes they do this towards the end to make customers pay for more treatments)
The areas i had treated, front and back neck which showed the best results 10 % hair left, cheeks 50% hair left ( i have different hair growth's on my cheeks) above brows 10% hair left.
Overall its worth it, sometimes the hair does grow back but very light. My friend had 6 treatments, its been nearly a year and his hair hasn't grew back. If you have fair/dark skin tone and your hairs dark and thick then it would work best, thats from my experience so far.
If it was your first treatment then the practitioner is right. Some hairs will grow again and will fall out.
Your practitioner should have told you about the effects to expect before the first treatment. Maybe the settings were to high for your skin type , mines was on max which is high and its painful on some parts.
the second treatment was better, the lady got the spots where I wanted treatment. However there are still lots of spots she missed so i'm hoping my third treatment will address those problems
The best comparable sensation would be to take a rubber band around your wrist and pull back 2 - 3 inches and let go. Much less painful than waxing. There are also many lasers on the market today that offer pain free technology. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions!
i am getting laser hair removal on my upper body. it could actually get quite painful on the areas where u grow thick hair. e.g i have thick hair shafts growing on the back side of my neck and that hurts like hell when laser is being over on it, and yes the place i go to uses the latest model of laser
Will it hurt on the eyebrows ?

You wrote this 2 months ago. How did it go? I'm considering laser hair removal on my face, but I'd like to know if it really works.

this is crepegirl on a different account. It's my first time but when I left the clinic I had a face full of hair except for a dime size on my chin.
I am pretty pale and I have dark course hair. I have really thick hair so maybe that's why?
