Fantastic comparison, very helpful, thanks !!! Most of them had their moments either clean or dirty, but overall I think the 498T and regular Ducan SH-4 JB sounded best, at least in that guitar. The SH-5 Duncan sounded too bass-heavy IMO. I thought the Classic 57 sounded nice too, especially in its articulation with some medium crunch. I was really hoping to like the AT-1 but it didn't impress me much in this application at least. Great video.
@jimclip2012 Thanks you for the feedback! Totally agree with all of your comments. Re AT-1 - if you listen to Andy Timmons - it sounds pretty much like that - boosted mid-hi-mid frequencies, good for soloing, but it's not that versatile as 498T or JB.
As you can tell Im a huge fan of the 498T,but I love the darkness of the Duncan TB-5.I think both are great pickups that won't leave it sounding thin. Thanks again for the great vid.I'm going to subscribe =)
@ej2eugene The 498T is 1 of the most well rounded pickups ever.Thats why you find them in $3,000 LP's.They work well with any humbucker bridge pickup guitar and any amp.I will be ordering one for my AXL cheap LP copy. The AXL is pretty nice for being so cheap.I will be getting a Les Paul coustom in the near future. They're sweet, they just cost a fortune.
0.0 I'm Glad I Watched This Video!!! I Was Planning On Getting The SH-5 (TB-5) And It Didn't Sound Worth Crap In This Video!!! I Will Gladly Be Getting The SH-4 (TB-4) Now!!!
Great work! The TB-4 and Gibson 498t do indeed sound best! Would there be much difference between an Ash body guitar compared to an Alder body guitar with these pickups?
@skitignallebjorn TB-4 anf 498T would be great on Alder. Alder usually has just a bit softer highs than Ash. As warmoth site states: "The tone is reputed to be most balanced with equal doses of lows, mids and highs." When Swamp ash: "It is a very musical wood offering a very nice balance of brightness and warmth with a lot of "pop"
@anointedemcee It took about 6 hours to record this session with all pickups (neck, middle, bridge). + some time for mixing and editing video and audio. I really like 498t and TB-4 - they are great on ash. TB-4 is quite punchy, but Gibsn can do the same + it can be brighter. I left TB-4 on my guitar, but if I find 498T in zebra color, I switch to Gibson:)

@MetallVersion это правда. Я на гитаре оч мало играю, т.к. басист в основном. Но учусь понемногу:)

No way, The Gibson 498T was my favourite and from far. The Schecter was not bad at all as well.

Awesome video!! How long did this take you, to change all the pickups and rerecord everything? What conclusion did you come to in comparison?
