Mine doesn't work when it's not plugged in (still on battery power), it's basically an overpriced clock at that point, is it supposed to do that? I thought you could listen to music with the battery power.
Will the Zune 80gb still play music aloud with a hard case on with this? Because I have a zLive speaker that won't play music when the hard case is on, but it will still charge?
I received a 30 gb Zune as a gift a couple of years ago and have yet to use it as I'm not into carrying my music around . However, I would like to listen to audiobooks or podcasts as I fall asleep and think a Zune clock-radio would be good for that.
Your demo was quite helpful. Now if I can find this product in stores or online.
Does this unit have the option to dim the clock display light? I'm looking for something that won't flood my room with green or blue light when I'm going to bed.
Does the Zune player continue to have a backlight when charging? That's my biggest issue right now while it is set up on my boom box with a charger; I like the room to be very dark to get to sleep. I know the clock will dim, but will the Zune dim as well?
Yes, it does. My HD is in mine right now. (Note: I don't have the iHome remote, which is an optional separate accessory for the iHome, so don't know if that works with the HD.)
Hey hchute, I have a couple questions for you just for your own opinion and I'm only wondering too.
1. On a standard clock radio when the alarm goes off which alarm setting do you think is the most loudest with the volume tuned up? The music or the alarm buzzer?
2. Also, how come sometimes people fall asleep again or go back to sleep when they hear the music playing on a clock radio with the alarm setting to the music setting?
Oh okay then. Well thanks anyway, hchute. I appreciate you answering back to my questions as soon as you can too. So thanks again. Basically in my own opinion, I would like the music setting the best on a clock radio. I think the music setting is better because sometimes when the alarm goes off and the music starts playing, you can sometimes listen to some of your favorite songs on the clock radio depending on what station it is on and everything. Those clock radios rock!
Make sure to tell me what you think about sound quality. I don't own one yet but I want to know how it sounds as I have not heard much about in other reviews.
Yeah, I just bought one of these. Unboxed it, plugged my Zune in, listened to the sound quality... But oh wait, I want to listen to a different song... Well, there's no buttons to cycle tracks on the radio... And the remote (which does have this ability) isn't available in Canada through any means. So basically if I want to change songs I need to unplug my zune, cycle through to the song, play it, then plug the zune back into the radio... Great design team iHome, real bunch of geniuses you got.
THANK YOU! When I first tried this it didn't work and I didn't think you could change songs like that. I guess I didn't press it hard enough.
I sent a disgruntled complaint to iHome regarding their remote control which is unavailable in Canada, and how much this limits the use of their product. They've offered to send me a free remote, free of charge.
So if you live in Canada and really want that remote, write them a well-mannered complaint.
OK so I got it to play music from my Zune HD, but I can't get the alarm to work with my Zune. Any help?

Ah, unfortunately the iPod has a different sync connector than a Zune. The two are not compatible. Bummer!

The buzzer is loud, but with your volume turned up the music will be louder. Either one will wake you up, though!
On #2... I dunno!!

I have that one, I took the "Designed for Zune" sticker though, not a big fan of elecctronic with stickers.

No, it's only compatible with Zune players. iPods have a different connector port than Zune players.

just one questeion. Does the wheel thing actually move (like ansa fuze etc.) or it doesnt(like the iPod)
Intellduocore2 3 years ago
The wheels physically rotate. So it has a mechanical feel to it, not a touch-sensitive kind of thing.
hchute 3 years ago
o and does it come with a remote lol
Antweezywchs08 3 years ago
It does not come with a remote. One can be separately ordered if desired.
hchute 3 years ago
i just bought an 8gb will this work im lookin to get one of these
Antweezywchs08 3 years ago
Yes, it works with any Zune player - so your 8GB will work with this.
hchute 3 years ago
Does this fit the 16GB zune because i dont want to waste my money on it if its not going to fit.?
irishboss29 3 years ago
Yes, it first all Zune players. It will work with your 16GB Zune.
hchute 3 years ago
It's in stores, but easier to find online.

this is amazing!
Can I only buy it online, or will they be selling it at stores like best buy, walmart, target, or circuit city?

?? I just push "right" on my Zune's touch pad and it moves to the next song. No need to unplug the Zune.
A remote would be nice though. Agree about that.

Your choice - you can set it to go off with your Zune music, with the radio, or with its built-in buzzer.
