Thanks for the tip on throwing. Any fisherman worth thier salt will admit... You can't throw Perfect every time. At least you took the time. Give a man a fish... feed him for a day. teach a man to fish... feed him for life. Also, there will always be at least one idiot in every crowd. As sure as every cast aint perfect. Thank you again
i was just going through youtube checking out fishing vids and found this, its a cool way, but from your display the net doesnt go that far, so, i dont know, but you got a good list of fish there that you cought, i cought the biggest alligator gar ive ever seen out here in the bayou, it was 6 and half feet long, i took A picture of it and soon its gonna be up on a vid with all the fish i cought this summer
Thank you, thank you best video on youtube i also have a 6ft cast net trying to learn to throw before up grading to one bigger.Very good class i can finally throw it.
Torium50 i apologize that that particular throw wasn't up to your standards, but to correct you, that is in fact a 6 foot net, (i understand that nets are measured by radius) if you look at the first part of the video you will see that when i stretch out the net it is as long as I am tall (I am exactly 6 foot) for your comment about it being 4 foot to be correct it would require me to be 4 foot as well, so if your going to diss someone get your facts strait first, thanks for your comment
oh and Rowan135 to answer your question about what my best catch is, thats actually a difficult question to answer, now granted some of these are illegal to keep when caught in a castnet, but ill list a few of my better catches
largemouth bass- 4 pounds (illegal to keep)
common carp- 10 pounds
alligator gar- 3 1/2 feet long
stingray- 2 foot wingspan
threadfin shad- over 100 in an 8 foot net
just to name a few, throwing a castnet is a new adventure every time, you never know what you will get!
thanks GoWREVENGE, i know that, all species of game fish (as defined by your state's department of parks and wildlife) are illegal to keep when caught in a castnet
that was just the only fish on my list that was illegal to keep...thanks for the comment tho
Thank you all so much for the comments, i apologize for my delay in responding i have been having issues with my account and have been unable to log on, im so glad this video has been such a help to everyone, i love teaching people how to throw a castnet, it has made a huge impact on my fishing experiences, again thank you all, Tight lines, and God bless.
Thank u soooooooooooooooooo much really this is the best and easiest instructions in all in the youtube videos have watched. I've watched dozens, and only yours let me do it properly.
finally.... someone who throws the net like I do only I lay it over my wrist only once...I dont understand why all these other knuckleheads lay the net over their bodies...or worse..in their mouth

1. net didnt open all the way
2. it is a 4ft net not an 8...nets are measured by their radius not diameter...god job trying to make people think you can throw a big net
