  • I. DRINK. YOUR. MILKSHAKE!

  • "That's it, ladies and gentlemen!"

  • Brahm's Violin concerto D, Mozart's Requiem, Beethoven's Concerto's, Bach's Goldbergs, Passion According to St. Matthew-and all of Chopin, anything of Chopin..MattMJR is right..we're all finished. I used to attend Bernstein's Philharmonic children's concerts and would watch as he went wild, flinging and flopping, dripping by the end..and either you 'got it' or you didnt. But sorry to say, nothing contemporary, NOTHING compares, either in composing or artistes with the early 19th & 20th century

  • I don't like how they play it.

It's not bad or anything, but they make Brahms sound too mundane.

  • Sublime.

  • thumbs up if mr bleach brought you here

  • "Mr.Daniel?"

    "I'm finished!"

  • I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE! (SLURP) I'M FINISHED DRINKING YOUR MILKSHAKE!

  • Devour it misty dreamer!

  • @Indefatigable4 It's also played at the middle!

  • I comment similarly to what Rostropovich said upon hearing Du Pre playing the Elgar:

There is no need for me to perform this piece. Perfection has been reached.

  • great, but doesn't have the heart of berliner philharmoniker

  • there will be blood soundtrack

  • Okay, since you all voted me down for my apparent ignorance, help me out. If this wasn't playing during the oil well geyser scene of There Will Be Blood, what was, please?

  • @Indefatigable4

Yes, it was played sometime during that movie. I was trying to remember which movie this was in.

  • @Indefatigable4 It was played at the end credits

  • I am the Third Revelation!

  • Awesome music! Awesome video! As a kid, whenever my mom had trouble waking me up or gettin me out of bed in the mornings, she would play this so full blast, it could be heard thru out the whole house lol! It sure woke me up! Today I do the same thing 4 myself; I find this music very inspirational!

  • Heifitz is wonderful, but may I recommend that we try something new - Nathan Milstein:

    watch?v=qWK4jtOwQ-8

  • Alicia Keys' "Karma" samples the moment 3:41

  • Heifetz is truly gifted, a fine violinist, his performance is brilliant.

  • what part of the song is sampled in alicia keys' karma?

  • the part where alicia keys slaughters the memory of brahms.

  • I don't know, Iluvbuenosaires93, The Fountain struck my being with an unprecedented force only the vibrations of an intrepid and iron will-to-love could produce.

  • i LOVE there will be blood. best movie ever.

  • żyć nie umierać

  • kurupt - trylogy samples the part from 1:38 to 1:46..niice sample

  • @SuNSeTbEaTS That sample starts around 3:51 ;)

  • NICE

  • I'm FINISHED!!!!!!!!

  • I drink your milkshake.

    Exellent film.

  • Brahm: I drink your milkshake. I drink it up!!!

  • Hilarious! Perfect!

  • This music started to get stuck in my head after watching there will be blood

  • Me too, couldn't get it out of my head, perfect conclusion to a perfect film!

  • Hefetz's 3rd movement of Brahms' Violin Concerto is my favorite. Others are good, his is perfect !! I wish I were there listening to his play, but I have no such chance...

  • Fantastic music, but I always wondered why he had the most dramatic part of this movement towards the beginning and not the end. Still, how can I argue with Brahms...

  • Amazing intro though, blows you away!!

  • I'm finished.

  • I'd just like to say God bless these honest labors of ours, of course, God bless you all. Amen. Cue Brahms. (Eli's confused face)

  • 1st recording:

    Boston Symphony Orchestra

    Serge Koussevitzky, conductor

    2nd recording

    Chicago Symphony Orchestra

    Fritz Reiner, conductor

    I have these two CD's

  • OMG... AWESOME

    Thanks for posting!

Do you guys have any udea when was this recording made?

Judging from the sound quality I think it's a late Heifitz recording. In early recordings the sound quality(I'm talking about enginiering, not playing ) it's just bad

  • 1955 ish

  • I LOVE THIS CONCERT :)

  • I'm Finished!

  • @MattMJR

Yeah blud I just spaffed in my trousers too, off to clean up

  • SHOW NO MERCY MASTER HEIFETZ!!!

  • There Will Be Blood ending !

    Amazing x)

  • Amazing piece.

  • the actual version used in the movie is that of Anne-Sophie Mutter, António Meneses, Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert Von Karajan from the album "Brahms: Violin Concerto - Double Concerto", itunes has it

  • the actual version used in the movie is that of Anne-Sophie Mutter, António Meneses, Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert Von Karajan from the album

  • I thought this was PERFECT in TWBB. Great piece, Heifetz is incredible.

I'm friends with one of his former students, Ayke Agus - she lived and worked with him for a very long time before he died. She herself is a virtuoso pianist and violinist, is constantly performing and teaching master classes.

    M

  • well aren't you special.

  • A great piece of music which made "There Will Be Blood" one of the best endings in film history. After an amazing final scene, it just suddenly breaks out into this. Great film, amazing music!

  • THERE...WILL...BE...BLOOD!!!

  • Can this be purchased online anywhere?

  • Wonderful.

  • loved this in TWBB

  • One of the best violin concertos, very good, it reminds me the finale of the tchaikovsky's similar concerto.

  • Love this! Beautifully used in There Will Be Blood!

  • This is Heifetz, recorded in 1959 with Charles Munch and Boston Symphony.

  • heifetz is, without a doubt, the best for this concerto, i agree. Have you the other movements by any chance?

  • With Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony.

  • Heifetz is best on this piece.

  • Excellent work.
