You can do this or go at it the easy way, download youtubetomp3 (availible in the standard repos from cydia) and mewseek (from xsellize or ihacks repo this will be the unlimited sync version) and the rest is self explanatory

if you download "mewseek" from cydia you can use it to transfer the downloaded music to your music in your ipod...but make sure you download it before you do this stuff in the video

@minoaten not sure, with iOS 4 i dont know if it can be run in the background, but you can use backgrounder from cydia if you want to run it in the background.
