I think grime is becoming a lot bigger in the UK because there is no more real/good shit from America anymore.
All I ever used to listen to was artists like dr dre, eminem, snoop dogg, 2pac. Now that theres a bunch of fake rnb shit coming from over there. I prefer UK grime because its real, and it more or less is what I am around daily.

Grime had the potential to be huge about 3 or 4 years ago. It could of been the new punk rock in London. But the attitude,it's aggressiveness and narrow-mindedness scared away the music industry. So artists like Lethal Bizzle,Wiley,Tinchy Stryder and dizzee rascal had to change their direction. They were told by the music industry basically 'look,you have talent,listen to us,we'll make you big,we'll make you rich. Look at them now...

"The UK aint ghetto" <- Have you seen some parts of London? They are a lot worse than alot of the so called ghettos in the US. Gun crime is a smaller problem in the UK, but knife crime here is everywhere, countless teens have died this year in London from it.

I love uk grime. Mainly for the heavy basslines, the fact that its all home-produced and you don't have to pay millions for a great track! Also there's so much energy in grime, artists put heart and soul into their deliverance, even if some lyrics are a bit weak. Still gets man hype!
