beautiful <3 i did an arrangement of this song with one of my friends at our solo/ensemble contest and we got a superior rating. this is just gorgeous, i loves it and them absolutely phenomonal harmonies!!
@ilovesellyxxx123 Thank you Amber. I suspect that the one dislike was probably an accident or a complaint about the quality of my very old video. The newer ones get better. I look forward to their performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 07/06/11.
Had to listen yet again... But I have also found another version of John Brunnings Pie Jesu, by 'The Kings Singers'... Equally beautiful but sung by men... have a listen, I think you will find it equally as beatuiful... All angles have stolen a part of my soul though... This is sheer bliss... *sighs* :0)x
@SewTwstdSis .. it is gorgeous isn't it.. but I just wish 'The Kings Singers' had sung a full version, like 'All Angels' have here.. As I have said before STUNNING.. *ahh that's better, nice and chilled* :0)x
I have listened again and have goosebumps running up and down my arms, with tears glistening in my eyes, which means this is FANTASTIC, moving, soulful and totally beautiful... All Angels are super talented and long may they continue to sing.... Sheer bliss ... :0)x
Oh my gosh, what a stunning version of 'Pie Jesu', the harmonies are exquisite and sublime in their intricacies, beautiful voices lovely girls and totally beautiful to listen to...
Close your eyes and let the spiritual music wash over you and clease your weary soul...:0)x
@xrachyxpachy God doesn't get to claim their voices as his 'gifts', whilst simultaneously remaining unaccountable for the suffering and strife inherent in life.
@xrachyxpachy Just enjoy the spirituality of this without dragging religion into it - god and religions have drowned goodness in boody holy wars , human repression , superstitious twaddle etc for long enough - yours is a sickly observation : all the credit goes to to human spirit as embodied by these lovely singers.
love it; first heard this on the first morning at home with my baby daughter from being born listening to it with her asleep on my chest, it was very special and loved it ever since always reminds me of that special day.
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful on its own, but I have to say that I am slightly envious that you can enjoy such wonderful sounds with very happy memories. Enjoy. (and bite your tongue and think about this lovely song when your baby girl makes demands of you in the years to come).
Incredible sound! Beautiful harmonies and perfect voices. I first heard this on Classic FM in the car and I had to just stop driving and listen. I was absolutely captivated.
you guys are the REAL thing. Your technique is much better than celtic women, you all have rich tones and pretty strong breath support, and nice open vowels...high quality indeed!
Does anybody know if I can get sheet music for this? I'd like to sing this with my friends as a thank you to my music teachers for teaching me in my last year at school.
I'm not sure, but I think this was written by one of the presenters of Classic FM - possibly John Brunning? I could be making that up (because it sounds a bit like John Rutter too). But it could be worth emailing Classic FM to ask. Send them the link. Just a thought! :)
Hahaha - spot the person who hadn't listened to the beginning of the track! Sorry! So, anyway, the ladies have said it themselves - it is by John Brunning, which means that Classic FM will be able to direct you to the sheet music if it's been published.
One bit of advice... mic control... the note at 4:21 would sound much better if the two lower voices would smoothly move their mics about 2 feet from their mouths to give the higher notes (or less forcefull vocalists) opportunity to equalize the power of the chord. Practice this form of vocal orchestration (volumee distribution) per note on this and other songs and it will add beautiful dynamics to your already beautiful performances.
I suppose that Jesus enjoyed eating pies back in the day. LOL.
