  • Poor kid. That must have been devastating! Hahaha but it is pure comedy, reminds me of Victor Borge

  • I was page turning for a concert pianist, (my teacher), and I literally did this same thing!! She was nodding to the cellist, not me to turn the page....

  • hahahahahaha

  • Actually Berezovsky pwned everyone (He continued playing the arpeggio, and changed the page himself).

  • Page turning: fail - Berezovsky: win

  • Lol, bad luck.

You can't blame him, it's not his fault.

Try to be page-turner of your teacher, for once n ull see ^^

  • JESUS CHRIST! BEREZOVSKY?! THE BEREZOVSKY? HE PLAYED ALL OF FRANZ LISZT'S TRANSENDENTAL ETUDES IN ONE GO! OMGGG

  • ups!!! xD

  • Did he just flick him off at 0:19 xD

  • Can't remember seeing anything as funny for a long time.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Did he give him the finger after the second page turn?

  • haha love the gesture he does when he covers his mouth with his hand in shock. it's like "OH SH- WHAT DID I JUST DO"

  • Comment removed

  • At least he was nice about it. You can tell by the gesture he made after the second attempt.

  • i had to do that once, for my piano teacher, but she gave me a nod when i was to turn the page, so i didnt make a mistake

  • lol FAIL FAIL FAIL.

berezovsky is just GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! :D

  • Bit odd - did he really need the music at that point? I like having the music in front of me, but I do not actually need it.

  • Hahaha now that's funny!!

  • hahahaha~ they look so funny~

  • oh wow, i guess ill never be a page turner.

bet that guy didn't get a raise or a tip

  • you would memorize your chamber pieces? i would think you need music because if someone were to get lost or if something were to happen could u possibly remember everyone else's parts? most pianists i know hardly play with music for performances if they're solo unless its with insane contemporary music

  • You definitely need your music.

Yes, music. We usually just say 'music' instead of sometimes 'score', but never uses 'sheet'.

  • Fine, call score "music", but score and sheet isn't the same thing.

  • this doesn't exist for chamber music. in emsembles, you must always read the sheet, even if you have already memorized it complety. consider that if you have a "memory blank", you must not your co-workers alone. that's the reason for using sheet ALWAYS in chamber music.

  • haha ive been in both situations, awkard on all ends

  • I love the accent with the hand at :20 when he gets it right.

  • haha, Berezovsky gave the page turner a funny look... =D

  • This is like a real-life version of Victor Borge's act. XD Berezovsky even looks at the page-turner at 0:10 funny. 'Excuse me, wtf are you doing?'

  • that's happened to me in a performance! i goddamn near shat myself. the girl was devastated afterwards :(

  • The way he covers up his mouth is too funny. Y ou can almost hear him say (omg) under his hand. It almost looks like he just got slapped when Berezovsky throws that page back.

  • Lol...Page turners aren't always the brightest.

  • It's hard in fact. Sometimes you get a rehearsal, sometimes not. It's not likely a page turner will know the piano part, unless he or she plays a wide range of voice song piano accomps. and chamber music. So you're there at a good distance from the music, following it quite like sight reading, & there's rubato, quick tempo changes, and all these pauses agreed between the players. I used to end up standing up a minute before the turn sometimes. Sometimes not knowing where, just hoping to see it!

  • You never know if tt's obvious or not!! Haha. I used to console myself usually that I only made 1 mistake after a concert, & in the circumstances, with no or little rehearsal, that nearly no-one could have got that turn. It's very like that - for example you turn, you sit down, the pianist doesn't nod like the last time to indicate a very quick 2nd turn, the tempo changes to lightning speed, and in 6-7 seconds, you've missed it. I didn't get complaints, was always paid & asked back. Famous pros.

  • Ah...I see.I guess being a page turner too is hard...Thanks for that insight,I'll keep in mind to get page turners to come for "practice" too and keep them informed of where and what are we going to do(if he can remember all that.)

  • There are a good number of things you can't expect even with rehearsal. Although sometimes it looks like the page turner's fault for people watching, it may not be at all. E.g. pianist is seen frantically turning a page himself. Many in the audience assume the turner has fallen asleep. One time there was a rehearsal, pianist said the trio will decide in performance if they repeat a section, and he will indicate to me. Whether or not he thought he let me know in concert, I received no clue.

  • XD!!

  • lmfao - it must be very intimidating page turning for Boris Berezovsky though. The thought of messing up constantly running through your mind... so much so that it happens! lol Unlucky.

  • some of those old books have pages pasted together. It's not his fault.

  • No, I think there probably was a repeat and the page-turner forgot about it. But I don't know the piece, so I may be wrong.

  • Bravo!!!

  • lol, honest mistake but it is kind of funny. I wouldn't be able to keep up with that either, too fast and it all sounds VERY similar.

  • haha great^^

  • lol... the page-turner guy looked mortified...whooops... i hope he didn't get into trouble afterwards

  • this shit is hilarious

  • I couldn't handle that.

  • I tried once before...I was a page-turner...

  • rotfl

  • Does anyone know what trio they're playing?

  • That's pretty funny. But Pianists are used to turning pages while they play during practice :p

  • Man - so embarresing when that happens. It's tough when it's a fast piece with lots of repetition. Bet he didn't ahve the benefit of a runthrough before hand either.

  • Hilarious!

  • lollllllllll!

  • When I grow up, I want to be a professional page-turner!

  • LMMAO!!!!

  • BB took that pretty well

  • He probably had the piece largely memorized anyway.

  • 0:11 AH AH AH AH :D :D :D

    Very,very funny!

    Great, Boris :D

  • I hate you in so many ways.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • hahahahha

  • lol

  • hehe

  • I've page turned before and it is almost as stressing as actually performing! I never screwed up like that though... gawd, i would be so ashamed!!!

  • :D favorite!

  • page turners have to be very talented. haha It's soo nerve racking to turn pages actually. You don't want to mess up the performance!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • hah, did you see the page turner's gesture? classic

  • GENIUS DID U LEARN THAT?

  • LOL

  • Simple, elegant, radical, efficient and fast... Excellent!

  • I saw Berezovsky saying to the page turner "thanks a lot, you're the real genius"! Look carefully at 0:22!

  • The page turner is also a genius

  • Why are all page turners so incompetent? This is great.

  • haha berezovsky's such a sport about it though

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • That's funny..

  • oh man I was just waiting for him to turn the page back again after the guy did it the second time :p

  • hahaha!

  • haha

  • :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    i would pee!!

  • HAHAHA,wut a loser!

  • Hahaha, great stuff.

  • The pianist should have remembered it anyways.

  • Actually, it didn't seem to phase the pianist at all. He kept playing, turned the page back, and kept going.

As far as the video itself, page turning mistakes happen all the time - to amateurs and professionals - in the real world. It's not a big deal. I've had people drop the music on the keyboard when I was playing. You just go on.

  • lmmao!!!

  • Wow, I love this clip. Could anyone please tell me the name of the piece they are playing? Wish I could see the whole performance...

  • I believe it's the 3rd movement of Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 2, op. 66.

  • I believe it's the 3rd movement of Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 2, op. 66.

  • that happens so often when page turners doze off into the music and lose the plot... it can sometimes be a terrifying experience as a pianist when that happens but its ok when u can play the music inside out and from memory....LOL

  • LMAO wow...pwnt.

  • He probably fired the page turner after that!

  • You can't fire them, it's volunteer work.

    Very funny BTW.

  • LMFAO...

  • hahahahahahaha

    im never page turning again

  • XDDDDDD

  • :-D

  • From what I've seen and heard, Berezovsky has a terrific sense of humor and I'm sure he took this extremely well afterwards. He certainly dealt with it well enough here!

  • Yeah, he does look like a pretty outstanding guy, in all. He came to Birmingham not long ago, I can't believe I missed him play Rach's 4th!

  • this is gold.

  • SOOO FUCKIN COOOL :)) =))

  • haha you can see he looked at him in confusion straight after he turned it for the first time

feel sorry for the page turner.. well.. you learn from mistakes like these i guess =S

he was probably in a panic.. imagine being the page turner for someone so famous

  • nice clip!

  • moi aussi je connais le tourneur lol

  • OOh I remember being grabbed by a proff to turn pages for him when he was accompanying his 'star' student for the concerto trials! The Ravel concerto no less and he was making up the orchestral part so I had to have an eduacated guess when he wanted me to turn. He grabbed me on the way onto the stage ( I had no chance to look at the score)

  • poor guy! this hapends when you ask to do this job to a singer or a student (begginer) I bet he wasnt even payed (then is not his fault)

  • et dir que je les vu en vrai on dira pas qui est le tourneur ptdr

  • woputain quelle honte !!!

  • lol :))

  • rofl rofl

  • why didnt he just say NOT YET or shake his head or something?

  • ahahaha clearly da WHALE action zpeak loudah den hiz wordz 8)

  • hahahhahaha

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Honestly, that really sucked for both the page-turner and Berezovsky. The look on the page-turner's face was priceless...

  • I love it. Bet that was his last day on th job!

  • Classic; although I have an even worse situation on DVD (including the lights nearly going out during the performance)

  • FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! da shamefull fuckup caught foh evah on tape

  • lmaoooooooo

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK diz a bit pwn every sheeyat in ma BEZTFUCKUP zeriez!!!!

  • datruzepp, shut up and worry about your own performance of Chopin EtudeOp.10No.1. "Nightmarishly horrible" is the perfect phrase to describe your performance.
