We bailed out the banks and wall street to "save" our economy, so why not bail out the actual citizens and help the PEOPLE that pay the taxes and forgive them their debt for getting educated. @Kelchjrs The students who took out the loans signed a contract which said that they understood that they would be held liable for the debt they incurred and they were responsible for paying it back. Even if they were foolhardy in agreeing to it, their demand for forgiveness is pure selfishness. They made a promise.
Clearing their debt will have disastrous consequences for our economy at the expense of many. We need to change how the game is played, not end it because others hate it.
