I rode a street bike from 16 to about 45 years old. More miles on a bike than in my car for the first 10 years.
Learned very quick it is wrong to think legal "right of way" on a motorcycle.
One just cannnot ride a bike like driving a car; going through traffic lights without looking to see if the other cars are stopping; thinking a car will not pull out in front of you or a person will not walk out in front of you; even when one has legal "right of way".
dude you are lucky hit the yucon and flew 31 feet. god must have been with you.i took a 5 foot header off a cliff got a riped fingernail and a scrach but my 12 doller sunglasses the i was retriveing got scratched to hell. go fig i learned a lesson that day. but in the fall some thing grabed me and set me down i didnt land.
dude i had a lady in an SUV pull out in front of me on my Harley on friday.. its Wednesday still haven't been back to work. glad your ok.. hope you got something else now
So annoying how the general populace think if a motorcycle passes them going 20mph over the speed limit they'll be thinking "G'damn riders, always putting our lives in danger speeding" while their bad driving skills doing stupid shit like in this video are actually hurting people, and no one seems to give a fuck, they're too busy being butthurt over speeders.
This is why I sold my bikes. I trust myself. I don't trust people in larger vehicles. It takes one a-hole to end your life. You're lucky man. Stay safe.
@ubicomp thanks a lot, I really appreciate that. But I wont live in fear of death, because any accident, either bike or anything else, can take life away as quickly as is this could have. Avoiding dangerous things can help, but wont stop the fact that when its your time, its time to go.
Unfortunately many SUV drivers have a blatant disregard for anyone's lives but their own. Hence why they surround themselves with so much steel and then fail to pay attention to anything going on around them. Glad you made it out man, there was a divine hand guiding you that day. Sorry about the bike too :(
people need to look out for bikes and stop trying to beat them around corners ive been hit when i was going through a green light and a car came through on red and hit the back wheel of my bike i got thrown across the road and into a gutter broke 3 ribs right arm and foot and fucked my neck up bad had to walk around with a neck brace on for 2 weeks i was riding with my dad and his mates they almost ripped the guys head of. i would have died if i didnt have my protective gear on.
wtf is it with yukon drivers... same shit happend to me on feb 10 this year, i broke my right wrist an both feamers. driver was a nurse on a cell phone, you r lucky
