@jordi0508 and how can you prove that?! I think someone needs to calm down and show some respect, he could have doped as much as any other cyclist. Seeing riders careening down a steep hill, brake too late get no traction on the tires and slam into the side is non-stop entertainment. J/K... people do get hurt in this sport.. what i'm trying to say is this is one boring ass course.....
i do cyclo cross on an islabikes its fast but because i am in england my races last to about an hour cyclo cross races have woods well most of the time and not all of the riders use cyclo cross some of them use mountainbikes.this one happons at night but lance armstrong is not as fast as before because he had cancer before wich took eight kilos of his body.early on in the race he got ahead of the rest and then just got so tierd so then that was his energy gon and the rest just caught him up.
The UCI legal limit for hematocrit is 50% so he has not broken the rules and the hematocrit levels for everyone is different. L'Equipe published this story and they even said themselves that the story was faulty. What is more important is the false negative which the new blood passport is fighting. Lance was the most tested rider at this years tour and has he been convicted for doping? No!
No one was/is aloowed to increase his hematocrit by doping. The 50% exist because it's not possible to detect all EPO or blood transfusion. All science studies shows athletes can only increase hct by 3 points, for exemple 41 to 44, and hct decreases during competition. Lance' s naturel hct is 40-41. Even if 48-49 were in the acceptable range, clearly that was only achieved by doping.
L'Equipe never retracted a point about Lance's doping. Your reference?
Lance was only one of the most tested, he said recently himself that Contador was most tested than him, Cavendish and Cancellara have been tested a lot too but they don't whine about it !
Lance' s blood values showed 2 clear increases of hct and heamoglobin : how could it be possible? Serious diarhhea or dehydration, or more likely blood transfusion?
Lance is disliked everywhere even in USA because of his arrogance, his lies and his doping. He had problem with French and Europe press since 1999 when he was caught lying about the famous false but outdated TUE to clear his positive test. Of course US fans have never been aware of that incident protected of the truth by Liggett or Bob Roll, accomplice of the myth.
Most of his opponents have been caught or are heavily suspected of doping: Ullrich, Basso, Beloki, Kloeden, Heras, Vino, Virenque, Valverde, Ricco, Pellizotti...
Contador is linked with Sainz, a manager as dirty as Bruyneel.
Schleck have had a "strange" progression but no element against them.
Big fish Lance say he is clean despite amount of facts, testimonies and circumstancial evidences like his hematocrit or drugs found.
first time i saw lance in a real cross, except for that time in a commercial where he suddenly takes an offroad track on his ''roadbike'', but he,s handling the bike quit well and the course is fast but nice , maybe it,s an idea to throw lots of water on the track next year, thnx for uploading and greetings from a dutch crossrider
I recommend that every american cyclist read Major by Todd Balf. It talks about a real american cycling hero. You can't say that you know about american cycling until you know about Major Taylor's career.
Please stop talking about Euro's are racist and that's why they hate Lance. I think if somebody is very successful, the Americans are proud about it but the Euro's getting jealous. That's it. Lance is the most successful cyclist ever and the only one, who is a super star beyond the cycling world. That makes it so hard for Euro's to like him.
Dude, you make one mistake; it's not the Euro's who hate him, it's just the French who don't like him very much.
Here in Holland he is also popular (except the last tour gave a little scratch in the popularity) I even bought a Livestrong jersey all from Florida (they are not in store's here).
Well Merckx is clearly the best cyclist ever. And Tom Boonen is a super star outside of the cycling world, just not North America.
Euro's don't like Lance because he is a stuck up jerk. He doesn't even come across as a nice guy in his autobiographies. How do you think he acts in real life?
In no way am I saying he is a bad cyclist. I look down on him for not focusing on other races but 7 tours and a 3rd at his age are huge accomplishments.
yes Euro are racist, they dislike arrogant dopers like Armstrong.
There is amount of clues and evidences of Lance's doping or the use of making agent.
Why his cancer was not detected by 96 Tour DuPont testing? What about 4 or more different legal testimonies? his corticosteroid positive test cleared by an illegal TUE and $500000 donation to UCI? his 6 EPO samples, just google velocitynation and ashenden for more? His curious 2009 blood values? his 48-49 hematocrit during 1999-2005 TDF?
I saw this race. Lance was back leading the chase group after half a lap. Don't worry, the true cross riders did well. As for the course - it's probably the best they could do in Las Vegas. The terrain was really squashy crab grass, but at least the barriers and the run ups gave the 'crossers a chance to shine. We did get in trouble for offering beer handups though...
So true. The last Cross race I was in had a spot where we had to let our bikes drop off a small bank, about 15 feet, then scramble down to get them... these new track style cross races are not the same.
Lance Armstrong is a great American cyclist. Winning the Tour 7 times proves this. He has been tested and re tested and was always CLEAN. He is not the only American competing in cycling yet no other American accomplished what Lance did.
Anyone find it ironic that the doping he's been accused of has the long-term use side effect of causing testicular cancer.... Talk about your chickens coming home to roost....
Ugh, what doping type are you talking about?? EPO?? Blood doping?? Neither increase the risk of cancer, what are you talking about ... Geez ... dude may have done EPO but was never actually busted, never tested positive ...
Steroids are different, more powerful, and more dangerous than what cyclists have been taking the past decade or so ... EPO and Blood Doping do not cause cancer.
What's your source for Lance testing positive?? ... had he tested positive why was he not thrown out of the 99' Tour and then banned for a year or 2?? I'm willing to listen, but as far as I've read, Lance only ever tested positive for Cortisone, and he had a prescription for it.
Sorry year was wrong....2005...source..every major media outlet in the world carried the story. Google it. 1999 was different.
I gotta say that Lance Armstrong was why I started really getting into riding (beyond casual interest) and so to come in after the fact and read all this stuff was incredibly hurtful. What's sad is that the US press gives him the benefit of the doubt, having lived abroad the past 5 years it was a shock to learn that most Europeans and Canadians consider him a joke.
I'm afraid you'll have to source the claim that Lance tested positive in 2005. Had he done so, he would have been stripped of his TDF title.
I've been on a lot of cycling forums the past few months due to Lance's comeback. The topic of Lance and doping comes up all the time. Thus far, people who've followed the sport far longer than you and I have yet to come up with but one positive test result ... excess Cortisone.
Europeans have a jealous distaste for Lance, quite sad.
The French in particular have shown an extreme lack of class in relation to Lance. It's like they just hate the fact that an American won their big race 7 times straight, while French riders have won few if races for over a decade.
Really, the accusations over the years have built up, but nothing has stuck, he's never been suspended. People are tired of Lance and some other riders. It's really still a European sport, much higher profile over there.
First I am an American, and always will be, so this isn't a lack of patriotism. However, this isn't jealousy. That is a very narrow, American, and only American, view of it. Irish guys, who don't have any love of the French, mock Armstrong, Italians, Spanish, Russians. LEquipe allegations are widely believed by everyone but Americans. 1999 Armstrong wasn't suspended in spite of the fact that he refused to follow the rules given to everyone in the sport in regards to observation.

cont- Beyond that every time someone calls him on it his attitude is horrible. Watch interviews with him in Europe and they ask a question that isn't "Why are you so awesome" and he has a nervous breakdown. His doping, and others, was called the "cancer" of cycling and he went on a tirade about making fun of cancer patients was evil. It's sad that he is the closest thing to a hero American cyclists have....
Well we'll have to disagree. I think the guy is a great Cyclist and an American Hero. The Franch are there to antagonize Lance, this latest dispute... threats to disbar him from this year's TDF .. is a great example. I just think Lance doesn't always put up with their bullsh*t, sometimes he calls the Media/French/Euro's on their lies and they can't take it, aren't used to it.

Have you ever actually talked to cyclist from Europe? Or read the stories....or do you just hear the Fox news version of the evil French/Irish/German/Italian/Czech/British people picking on poor Lance? The "they can't prove it" shtick isn't enough... they could prove murder etc against Al Capone either.... doesn't make him a good guy. It doesn't "anger the Euro's". You are missing a lot of information in your view point. 1 - You think that it is American/Lance winning that is pissing off everyone in Europe. Do you really think that everyone in Europe is a racist who hates Americans?
Well I'm afraid we'll have to disagree here. It does anger the Euro's, a few will even admit it. The French don't like an American winning their race.
Of course it's not all Euro's, and I don't think they are racist, just arrogant. Enough of them feel that way for this attitude to be readily apparent. There is rivalry within Europe, of course, but more cordial and accepted than interlopers like Lance from America.
It's so great to see Lance going back to professional cycling this year. I really hope he wins the Tour De France this year. Still he's got a lot of tough competition, but the great thing about Lance is that he is clean and tries different types of cycling and does cross-trg such as running.
