Basically, Chasers started by saying that ACA's/TT's reports were absolute bullshit. And for years this really has been the case, I grew up with it on TV.

Now ACA/TT would rather a more gulible part or the Australia public not realise this and continue to watch their show and believe their bullcrap. Thus they started making pathetic reports about the chaser.

So the Chasers kept the pot stirring to my and millions of others delight. TT and ACA really got smashed ;-)
