From Playa Flamingo to Mal Pais, the coast is full of nice little set ups. Marbella is about 30 min south of Tamarindo, tiny little fishing village and it holds some good size swell that the other places can't. Nice black sand barrel fest 5 min south of Marbella, that's all im saying.
No they aren't. I just came back from Costa Rica. You can pay any surf tour in Tamarindo 20 bucks and they'll take you right to it. I recommend Witch's Rock. Talk to Joe.
We tried to find the "secret spot" Marbella last time we were in CR, but couldn't find it. The locals are tight lipped about it. I know that it is South of Tamagringo, but we got lost somewhere south of Avellanas
