Yeah jumping on the second one is so hard, I pulled it off once and that was just practicing and I wasnt able to do it again. In the beginning I go behind the goomba and run up and jump on him so that I hit the bottom right edge of puzzle piece as Im coming down.
the first goombah that falls can be used to leap onto the ladder. shaves about .5 seconds off. ALso, its very hard to do, but the second goombah can also be jumped on.
Yes. I have found 3 different techniques for getting by the first goomba more quickly. However, the second one causes problems because I still have to wait for it to fall past me before I can continue climbing.
I haven't tried jumping on the second goomba. I imagine that would cut about .5 seconds off if done perfectly.

you can jump off the second falling one for a short boost, but it's freakin' hard
