@Zerolagg I am agree The cars was unsafe. for this time... but look at the diference the crumple zones of the golf after the crash the doors of the golf open without force, the survive cell don´t colapse complete in the Fiat tipo the cell colapse, the the steering column and steering wheel hit the cheast with incredible brutality the golf is not like a volvo but is is absolutely safer than the Tipo
@AdrianoCROST Whaat? I owned a Golf 2 it was a death trap on wheels if you would have a head on collision at 54 km/h against a wall, the structure cullapse even more than a tipo
the Golf MK3 was a bit safer as the tipo , but the Golf MK2 was a death trap if you find footage you see, the driver would be even dismembered
@215alessio the golf mk2 was brought to the market in 1983/4.... the tipo in 1988, thats 4/5 years difference, nearly a 'car generation'.... and also, the golfs A pillar was pushed back due to the bonnet, but the actual structure below this is kept more stable than the tipo
@vwolop you are very wrong, the tipo steering axle didn't kill the driver but the steering axle of mks golf penetrated the cockpit crushing the drivers chest
not to mension that even the pedals of the mk2 golf penetrated inside
you see also the underneeth structure of the mk2 folding like foilpaper
the tipo's habitacle is reinforced with more massive plates, the golf Mk2 lacked einforcements
I had an MK2 and now I sawed it into pieces to sell the shell as old iron keeping the spare parts
@215alessio no, the steering column was pushed in just as much as the golf, but because the a pillar/slam panel and everything else was pushed in, it doesnt look like it, youre saying about the pedals? can u not see the amount of intrusion in the tipo? and also the golf hit the barrier at a 40% ofset, when this was 50%, so yes, it would be expected for this to perform better, and its 5 years older than the golf...

@vwolop anyway both cars weren't prepaired for sutch punishment, I didn't noticed, yes the tipo was 50 %offset
I know about the pedals and steering axle because it was well known about the Golf and BMW's they intruded the passenger cabin.
Fiat Tipo was the first car that had a reinforced shell around the driver (firtst attempt was with the fiat Ritmo in 1979
German cars had to wait until 1992 to have reinforced shell's Golf MK3
