For example the reporter will ask a question, but if the viewer can't hear the question then they are able to control the answer to make it seem like it's more of a comment rather than answering the reporter's question. If that makes any sense, I only know this because I have two friends majoring in journalism. Look at TMZ and how they conduct their interviews similar style :) they will trick you.
