  • i didn't hear this on radios , whew ,a very nice rendition indeed...thanks for posting...

  • I have heard so many versions of this. Basia is right up at the top of my favorites. Bravo, Basia. I simply adore her music. <3

  • i wish that for my 19th birthday Basia could come out of my cake and start singing New Day For You and then Peter White could be behind the couch with his classical guitar and Danny White hiding behind my grandmother's piano......hey I can dream!

  • All in all, my current favorite bossa nova, go and listen to Elis and Tom, you can hear her smiling near the end, it's priceless.

But really, this version works nicely. A cool take, and I respect those who cover a song and make it their own.

  • Interesting take. About twice as fast as the Tom and Elis version which is something everyone who's been here should go and listen to. Right now. I'm not kidding.

Basia managed to suck all the fun and sensuality out of the song and replaced it with a groove, which isn't all bad. Jobim's composition is so hypnotic it works in a wide range of interpretations, except of course Art Garfunkel's which stands as the absolute worst version of this tune ever recorded.

  • I'm Brazilian.. Even thou I like this version, it's feel absolutely exotic to hear Águas de Março in English. I keep expecting to listen the lyrics in Portuguese!! haha

  • @blancounoir Tom Jobim wrote English lyrics himself and performed those on many concert tours.

  • @blancounoir ----Lucky Brasileira/o

, I think Im love with the Samba, this song composition is making me feel like going to Brazil. I love the Samba/Jazz especially this song----It's simply magical...ahead always of it's own time.

  • Great song, but I like Art Garfunkle's version better; its slower.

  • Great!!!

  • is this the girl that sang with Matt Bianco ? I know her was Basia. Whatever this is a fantastic version of this masterpiece by A C Jobim.

  • The best version ever! Kudos to Basia and the music arranger!

  • Has she done it in Polish?

  • En anglais?

  • This song belongs to Elis regina, a wonderful Brazilian singer!!!!

  • Muito criativa sua versão

  • super Basia Kochana

  • fantastic song and A BEAUTIFUL VOICE ! Basia is a truly great artist and she is Polish! We are so proud of our BASIA.......

  • @Izabela28W I love nearly all things Polish after spending 3 months there. Beautiful people and country. You have so MUCH to be proud of!

  • I still love Art Garfunkles version from the 80s

  • Such a pure voice. what an instrument

  • The original singer is Tom Jobim who wrote the song but there are many versions and interpretations of it

  • Look for the Elis Regina version (not hard to find - 3 million views). Perhaps Susannah McCorkle was one of the first to record an English language version?

  • love the song and the singer but just want to ask is she the original singer of this song?

  • @jelochegle No the original singer is susannah maccokle is better than basia(subjective)

  • @caguuas thanks for the info i will look for that version

  • @jelochegle of course not, the song is brazilian and was one ofthe hits of Elis Regina.

  • she is the greatest, love her

  • Bossa nova that really cooks. Good singing, great backup

  • What an amazing cover, and I have never heard someone with a such a beautiful voice cover thos amazing song by Jobim. Amazing.

  • @deizel90 yes, you are correct, and I love this song so much... wonderful on so many levels! By the way, her catalog of great songs is surprising! She has a ton of hits from the 80's and 90's... and now she is back on tour... what a voice!

  • song is the shit

  • hey do you know the original singers of this song.... i'm searching it for days and i can't find it please help.... love this song :D

  • @gillmarumarual THe original is Jobim!

  • @gillmarumarual Aguas de Marco by Elis Regina

  • @gillmarumarual -- sergio mendes

  • Everyone should have the opportunity to listen to this song at least once a day...I like Basia for this...at least twice a day until every frown is gone. PLZ...but that's "a hope". Thx very much...
