  • HOLY SHIT!!! I remember seeing this one when I was like 5-6 years old! I remember seeing the old man disappearing, and seeing the woman in that castle thing. I've been searching for this since 93-94.

  • I love this movie, especially this scene in the swamp. For me it´s a creepy "boy´s adventure" ("boy" not meant homosexually).

  • that lad with 1 eye looks like my wife,HAHA,,hope she doesnt have a youtube accout

  • This is why I love Krull its strange and different but makes sense aliens can visit at anytime even in the middle ages.

  • @inphasesith No harm meant, but this movie doesn´t take place in middle ages... at least not in Earth´s middle ages but on another planet or was that what you´ve meant? But can one speak of the middle ages, then? Who knows how the future of the planet Krull looks? Besides, "middle ages" is as far know a relatively term because it refers to the centuries after Christ, from the year one to the respectively "present."

  • But agreed: I also find it strange and different. I´ve never seen things like the glaive, Rell´s trident or the slayers (especially the way they die) before or after. But anyway, many critics reproach to it that it is generic and burrowed heavily from other movies. For example "The Wizard of Oz" (!). For me the only similarities are that in both movies the word "emerald" is said and that in both different characters form a party for a quest.

On the other hand nearly no critic seems to be

  • @VitoPossilipo bugged that "Star Wars" is almost completely burrowed by other movies what George Lucas even admits (whole scenes had been copied from particular westerns, war movies and documental World War II-footage). And it was also inspired by several myths, the novel "Dune", books by Isaak Asimov, the New God´s comics and the movie "Silent Running" (R2D2).

  • 0:34 is one of the few moments in fantasy movies when the bad guys are seriously outnumbered, just to be killed without mercy by the heroes.

    I love it.

  • the fortress scenes are breathtaking and I love the music at 2:33

  • love the way the baddies die.. drilling headfirst into the earth. good flick.

  • i watched this when i was 8 XD and its still good today

  • hm.. i remember this when i was a kid.. got a lot a memories from thisl

  • this is such an underrated film. the sets are spooky and ethereal. admitedly the effects are very dated but they still hold up well and i think a lot better than any cgi garbage. it's a simple story about love and loyalty and fighting for good against all odds. great characters too.

  • epic 00:03

lol the look in his face always makes me laugh, it's like "humm, wtf??"

epic movie, saw it too when i was 9 or 10, best movie ever!

  • Liam Neeson is this film...that automatically gives it points!

  • R.I.P. Bernard Bresslaw (the cyclops).

  • As a "whole family" movie this would actually do at least fine. Otherwise this sucks.

  • no remake needed.

  • Liam Neeson 8:51 right side!

  • What did Rell say he'd wish for @2:23?

    I heard "Tig Nubbins".

  • @timberbothy2

He said he'd wish for "ignorance". Because he knows the day he will die, and doesn't like it.

  • the scene with the fake Seer always terrified me as a child, and it's still creppy!!

  • damn that last scene was creepy.. i loved that film as a kid. perfect for tense...

  • @americanjedi77 thanks for asking, and yeah, I need counsel every now and then. Sorry bout that ;@

  • @americanjedi77 Why remake a crappy movie that shouldn't even be made in the first place. Most movies are a waste of natural resources, time and money.

  • @ChalkyNuts What do you find crappy about this?

  • The quicksand scene's always creeped me out. Something about this one is eerier than the one in "Neverending Story"...

  • Swamps that i remember from 80s movies:

    Star Wars

    Legend

    Neverending Story

    Swamp Thing

This was from the top of my head in like 5 seconds. Help me out !

    Long live the Swamps |

  • "This tree looks familiar." Really, Titch? Play in the spooky swamp alot???

  • yea krull could use a remake but its not really needed unlike some other movies i liked both versions of clash of the titans only seeing the original spoiled the entire new movie pretty much they didnt really add anything different but a few movies i would like to see remade or have a new sequel or something would be those old sinbad movies ^.^ at least a new conan, a remake of the odyssey and i think a remake of jason and the argonauts are going to be made along with a remake of the highlander

  • Remakes aren't so bad if they are done correctly. Can you imagine this film using modern effects?.

  • Find his hand, cyclops, there you go....

  • For me this is the best sword and sorcery movie ever made.

  • T2000 Terminator

  • the beast said she could go anywhere in the castle, then when she tries to explore he has slayers posted everywhere. You're such a liar, Beast.

  • 9:40 is it ridiculous or scary? I seriously can't tell.

  • SOMEBODY TELL ME THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LOOK COLWYN GAVE AT 7:20.I NEVER GOT THAT.WHY DID TORQUIL TAKE THE SEER'S HAND,HMMMM.

  • @kdolo100 I think it was because Colwyn was surprised that the bandit leader devoted himself to the quest.

  • @sierrah123 THANKS!

  • AT 0-4,THATS THE GUY FROM HARRY POTTER HAGRED OR WHATEVER HIS NAME IS,LMAO!

  • Rell the cyclops was the most bad-ass in this movie. Dude could throw a spear from more then 50 feet away and tag you with it.

  • What did the cyclops say he'd wish for? :/

  • @TheEntryCode Ignorance. Because he knows the day he'll die :-(

  • @TheEntryCode He wishes for ignorance. *giggle*

  • i loved this movie as a kid (mid-eightys). it seems like it was on HBO a lot back then. and i agree, i don't think movies like this and clash of the titans need remade. the kind of crap new movies are made of won't make them last . these movies were original. why else would i remember them for 25+ years

  • @resematt1980

It truly was ridiculous why Clash' was remade. I;ve seen the new movie begrudgingly and just like avatar: mindless CGI. Sam worthington isn't worthy to carry Harry Hamlin's jockstrap when it came to Perseus.

  • the poor old man! "Titch is that you?" :'(

  • I wouldn't say remake it, but I would say edit a couple of parts out with the CGI graphics of today, kind of what Lucas did with Star Wars.

  • @americanjedi77 Hell yes! No remake needed! I dont want to see colwyn played by ben affleck

  • 7:03 this is where Desmond of Lost ultimately ends up

  • haha they come out of the quicksand clean as a whistle. !!!!

  • ya isent it funny.

  • 3:34 OBI-WAN!

  • @kygner Uh, that's Qui-gon.

  • No remake needed. It;'s perfect in it's 80's form which makes it an instant classic. You could watch this with your entire family. Got romance, kids will dig the magic stuff etc. Perfect.

  • @louiev2000

Indeed. Remakes tend more often than not tend to be, well, sucky.

  • @louiev2000

No offense you or the movie itself, but I would definitely NOT watch this with my kids. I watched this when I was little and found the death scenes extremely traumatic.

  • @Progo35

Understood. I appreciate your respectful reply. Perhaps when your kids are older..

  • @Progo35 Indeed, any family who wants to see this movie need to be warned there are some definite horror special effects.

  • @louiev2000 I´ve seen it a few times when I was a child but it really scared me, even though I also enjoyed it. Especially the death of the Prophet was very creepy to me.

  • @VitoPossilipo I was more scared when those black riders took the princess but hey, to each his own.

  • @louiev2000 That scared me, too.

  • @louiev2000 Agreed. This movie is perfect in its current form. To make a remake of it would be a travesty to this movie.

  • @louiev2000 Well, for kids it is pretty scary. But on the other hand I´ve seen it several times as a kid and it was a, despite scary, magig event.

  • i am a great fan of the Movie loved it when i was bout 8years old

  • i couldnt agree with you more.... great movie!!

  • 0:29 epic when all of stand against a single slayer.
