Laura Geller Balance N' Brighten

I bought this from the USA to set liquid foundation and although I have a ton of different face powders, I was sure I was going to love this & I applied it with a powder brush.

Unfortunately this powder is very irritating to my eyes, they tear so much the eye shadows etc on my top lid are actually removed.

Obviously I don't use this powder on my eyes but some powder is airborne & I am allergic to it. In more than 35 years of using makeup, this is the only powder I have ever had a reaction to.

yea my gina is back!-i bought the laura geller's a while back- i thought it was ok- but then everyone on here was OMG I LOVE LAURA GELLER--i did not get it-- gina the best foundation i have use to this day is macs pro long wear concealer-- i bought 2 bottles diff colors so i can color match- i only use it where i need it not all over-the best under eye primer for consealer is cover fx omega primer-STAYS MOIST-you can apply almost any consealer over it- lots love shelly

Hey Gina! I thought I liked the BnB powder until I looked in my car's rear view mirror in bright daylight and I was HORRIFIED! I was on my way to work so I frantically tried to blend it away with my fingers. That was the first and last time I wore it. YUK! So nice to have you back! Kathy x

We must have the same skin (along with the same name, lol) but I don't care for the Laura Geller or the MAC MSF. I think they are both cakey and powdery. Personally I like the Palladio loose powder...great stuff! ~ gina

I like Laura Geller products - but for some reason - the Balance N Brighten broke me out so I sent it back - I also did find it a bit powdery

I have this product, too, and I won't repurchase it even though, overall, I like LG products. It is a setting powder that brings a like pink into my skin after putting on yellow-based foundations that conceal my redness. I prefer some of my other beauty powders over this. I find a lot of the hype on QVC is just that...hype...and you have to be careful not to be caught in it. The worst beauty products on QVC to me are Mally's. Awful packaging and less-than-mediocre products.

I threw away some of my LG QVC kit.  The eyeshadows had zero pigment and the lip products were the same. Gorgeous packaging and LG is great on TV but, to me the products sucked. I wish I would have returned it. Total junk to me.

When I first purchased this product I Hated it! However, it works great on me over my liquid foundation. I really like it now, but only as a setting powder. BTW are those your eyelashes? If so they look so Long & healthy! Are you using anything on them?

I'm not a fan of Laura Geller makeup. I think you should return it. We spend thousands of dollars a year on cosmetics, don't keep it. Qvc has a awesome return policy they will take it back no mater what and if you bought it mid October you have till the end of January to return it as long as you write "gift" on the receipt.

Gina, have you looked into Mally products...her Face Defender (powderless) sets your makeup without making you look ghostly; you won't believe it! :)

I used to like Balance And Brighten, I don't need a heavy coverage, but after they added SPF it wasn't the same. I've moved on to Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, love it :)

I used Laura Geller products off and on for years, because she usually had good kits with a lot of products and they were reasonably priced. But in the last couple of years, she sells only a couple of products together and charges a fortune!! They just aren't worth the price. I would rather by high end cosmetics for that kind of money.

I got the fair first, but wasn't happy with it either. I received the regular one in a kit and found it works and looks so much better than the fair.

I thought I was the only one that this didn't work for. I thought it looked decent on my skin, but the problem that I had with it is that it oxidized on my skin. Within hours of applying it I looked like an orange mess :( MAC MSFN was just bad for my skin. It made my skin oily! Thanks for the review xx

I find that this powder is WAAAY too powdery for me. I tap my brush on it and it's like POOF. Tons of wasted product all over the place. Way too soft. :\

I agree about the MAC MSF Natural, though. Also too cakey for me also.

I don't get this powder either... I do love her blushes and spakle!! I love my msf.. You have to use a stippling brush to apply it though. Great review.

The Mac Mineral Skin finish is really 'cak-ey' on my skin too. I was not impressed. Oh well. still on the look for the perfect powder.

I absolutely cannot understand balance and brighten. Here I was thinking I was the only person on earth this was a fail for. Don't even get me started on msf natural. There's nothing "natural" about it! So happy to see you darlin'!

Laura Gellar balance and brighten was a huge fail. i got a full size in my birchbox and all it did was put intense sparkle all over my face. Nars Albotrose, Hard Candy Pin up and Honeymoon, Laura Mercier Peach Mosaic way better just to name a few. xo Glad to see you back Gina!

I love balance n brighten. For the exact reason that it doesn't give heavy coverage. I don't need a lot but I want to even out my skin and it leaves a slight glow to my face. I think it's amazing. I carry it w/me to touch up

Hi Gina, I am happy to have purchased a couple of your recomendations and am really happy. I love the IT Bye Bye Pores and the Coastal Scents Bright Eyes under-eye concealer. The texture of Bright Eyes is wonderful. I have a fine textured skin and really do not like to 'see' the product, just the result. So thanks!

I know what you mean by being "neutral" and I feel like that's a fair viewpoint for this product. I see SO MANY rave reviews of this product and for me, it was just....meh. I do love her Blush n Brighten blushes though. A bit pricey, but I adore them! :) I'm curious about the Spackle primer as well. Have you tried it?
