Easy Nintendo Ds Top Screen Repair!

hey can you please help me out i dont know if i need a replacement but my hinge broke on my original ds not all the way just a little piece is missing and now all that happens is a white screen shows up i mean it turns on but there is no picture just a white screen

The cable connected from the screen to the board might have become lose or damaged. Take it apart if it is out of warranty take the screen out and carefully put it back in and put the rest of the DS back together. See if that works if not then it looks like you have to buy a new screen.

@brainfuly Hi there if this is the original ds as shown in this video then you need a new Bus wire if its for the ds lite then you need a new screen as the screen and cable on the ds lite are one complete thing these arnt easy to fit unless you have done it before my advice would be to get a professional to do it.

Thanks for the tutorial. I had to replace some of the foam bits that cushion the screen in the housing, but all in all worked great!

great, I just opened my NDS to see what's wrong and guess what? I don't have one of the speakers! I'll just buy NDS lite, and a new one, because the classic one was used(how the heck that guy used it before? the sleep mode is broken too!)

That could be a few things. What exactly happens when you turn the DS on? Dose the top screen light up?

The hinges of my old DS are breaking, and the top screen is hanging on by just the middle clasp. The screen still works absolutely fine, had no problems with it but i have no idea why when the thing is almost in two pieces. Anyone know why? If the top screen came off completely, would it stop working?

@awangkuafiq2506 how can you break whats already broken. . . . as i see it you came here because it was already broken right? if you don't understand what you are doing you shouldn't be trying to open your ds anyway. ocelot20 doesn't have to pay for anything. you can't blame him because your ds is broken. think about this your ds was broken before you opened it and after you opened it. so in the end you look slow trying to make some pay for something that was broke before you tampered with it.

Are you still experiencing this? Its probably Slot-1's pins have been damaged.

Here are methods to try to help.

METHOD 1) Send it to Nintendo. They'll repair it free,only if you say that you cannot find your serial number (at the back of your Nintendo DS) (Only do this if your 1 year warranty is expired) If your warranty is covered,send it along.

METHOD 2) Get a toothpick or a needle and pull out the pins and replace them. (Get new pins from EBAY)

you do need a new screen to repair a broken one.

it your ds flashes white on one screen then powers off after you power it on, the screen opposite the one that flashed is either broken or improperly connected.

I tried to replace the bottom screen on my son's DS and Killed it.... So I bought him a new one and the top screen died within a week...it had a hard case on it and dropped it less than a foot. Nintendo wants $25 just to look at it.... Or I can try and fix it with spare parts and hope I don't kill this one.... I'm not giving Nintendo another cent.

Something similar with mine, almost totally blank, but small green vertical line separating a small portion of the screen's left side, and that portion has horizontal lines (they look like scan lines).

My sis is not so different, it's like I'm the only one she'll swear at lol. But any way I snapped and threw it onto the floor board (after ripping AR out of it... didn't help I was already pissed at the game). It is not visibly damaged either, and I just opened up the shell...
