  • I am often floored by purist snobs who say this should be harpsichord. Ridiculous. Scholars say its a violin concerto transcription anyway. Gould playing the BWV 1052 on piano is the most important display of Bach's genius and emotional capacity I can possibly imagine! This is perhaps the most important recording in all Western Music.

  • Gould is always transcendental. I just wanted to say that I found the orchestra's playing to be exemplary.

  • to my ears it sounds like the orchestra cant agree on what notes should be played in what performance style (way to use the bow)

  • keep on, truecrypt!one more diamond from your treasure!

  • I have listened to recordings of this by Glenn Gould, somehow the live performance makes a difference. Thank you Truecrypt.

  • I didn't go crazy for his other recordings of this concerto... but I have for this one.

  • Superb!

  • Thank you.

  • si dice di mozart l'unico e di beethoven il più grande. Bene, il maestro gould incarna l'una e l'altra

  • This live performance is by far the most exciting Gould recording of this work I have heard (especially the third movement.) The CBS studio recording with Leonard Bernstein from the same year is the one I'm familiar with.

  • I love this movement! Thank you Truecrypt!
