I really didnt enjoy hearing that female veteran saying that military women are treated like they are bitches, sluts, etc. Maybe in her experience. Personally I think women in my command were treated much better than most the guys. Most reported "rape" incidents in the military is if a woman is drunk and even if the man is as well and he sleeps with her then the next morning the woman can legally file for a rape charge. That is what usually occurs in the military and boost #'s to the rape count.
We need a military no matter what you say or feel. If we had no military and those who are brave enough to enlist we could NOT be the country we are. Just use common sense and think about it. Any other country with a military would gladly take our land, take our resources, kill our people, do whatever they wanted to our lands if we had no military, with its resources, its weaponery, its aircraft and ships, its tactics, and especially its all volunteer men and women. I joined the Air Force 2 1/2 years ago. I got stationed on a beach in Florida. I never deployed. I finished 42 hours of college in this time, 100% paid for by tuition assistance. I am now accepting an early separation due to overmanning, and am going to use my Post 9-11 GI Bill to pay for college. It covers 100% in-state tuition, about $500 / semester for books and a solid $1300 per month for living for three years of college I have left. My real story is 100% opposite of this video.

this is bullshit. i spent 10 years and 2 months in the army. it wasn't difficult. the army is like anything else you decide you want to do in life; it's going to be what YOU make it. i've deployed 3 times to 2 wars in 5 combat zones, and i wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. i've got more real-world perspective than everyone who will ever be negatively affected by this hate mongering video. for all my sacrifices, my time in the service was easily worth them.

Its a tragedy when any Soldier dies. I've survived and think of friends lost often. I thank God I've made it back but will not disrespect their sacrifice by saying they deserved it because of their ignorance. Contrary to popular belief the majority of the infantry and other combat jobs are staffed by white people. Most minorities (including me) take the more technical jobs. The majority of the combat support and combat service support jobs are traditionally held by minorities.

i was a medic, 2001-2005. want to join? commit! BCT/AIT won't kill you. it's designed to make sure we can count on you in war and peace. just do your best and you'll make it. too many medics were babysitting too many recruits who were crying because they weren't 100% sure they wanted to be in the army. babysitting them meant we couldn't focus entirely on wounded soldiers coming back from afghanistan and iraq or their families. to this day, it really pisses me off. can't commit? stay home.
I'm about to get my associates off my mom's GI bill, she's Army (Yes if you pay into the GI bill, you can transfer it to your kids/future kids.) She also got her bachelor's degree while serving in the Army. My mom, step dad, sister, uncle, all in the army, all encouraging me to join up too, and I am. They indeed did dig around for these unfortunate ones.

Also my recruiter got a full ride to Duke University because he was in the top 3% of all Americans scholastically. But he decided to join the Marine Corp, and he has never regretted it. Also he has been in 6 years and has never seen combat.

The comment about the GI bill is a direct lie. I used the GI bill to get my Bachelors and I am completing my Master degree. my son is is using the GI Bill to get his degree.

I joined the Air Force 2 1/2 years ago. I got stationed on a beach in Florida. I never deployed. I finished 42 hours of college in this time, 100% paid for by tuition assistance. I am now accepting an early separation due to overmanning, and am going to use my Post 9-11 GI Bill to pay for college. It covers 100% in-state tuition, about $500 / semester for books and a solid $1300 per month for living for three years of college I have left. My real story is 100% opposite of this video.

Its a tragedy when any Soldier dies. I've survived and think of friends lost often. I thank God I've made it back but will not disrespect their sacrifice by saying they deserved it because of their ignorance. Contrary to popular belief the majority of the infantry and other combat jobs are staffed by white people. Most minorities (including me) take the more technical jobs. The majority of the combat support and combat service support jobs are traditionally held by minorities.

I'm about to get my associates off my mom's GI bill, she's Army (Yes if you pay into the GI bill, you can transfer it to your kids/future kids.) She also got her bachelor's degree while serving in the Army. My mom, step dad, sister, uncle, all in the army, all encouraging me to join up too, and I am. Also my recruiter got a full ride to Duke University because he was in the top 3% of all Americans scholastically. But he decided to join the Marine Corp, and he has never regretted it. Also he has been in 6 years and has never seen combat.

Everyone who enlists knows that they may have to put their life in risk. There are so many jobs that arent combat related though. I am infantry and I would find it an honor to give my life for the freedom of people who are anti-military, Freedom isnt free, remember that. And you shouldnt join the military for money, that is such a bad reason to join. You should join for honor, courage, commitment in the words of the Army. I love the military, i cant see myself doing anything else

I don't know what to believe! I've heard good then etching this makes me not wanna join. I can barely pay for college and can't get a single job I want because I don't have a college degree; catch22. Being in the army is the best job I've ever had. I have met so many brave men and women since I've been in. Quality people you won't meet but once in a while in the civilian world.
It takes courage and tenacity to suceed in the military. For every person in this video I can show you 100 that are honored to serve their country. For every person who's died, I can show you 100 that honor their memory and respect their choice to serve, and the ultimate sacrifice they made.

@RaneEarendur To each his own I guess. Just know that the biggest dumb shits I ever worked with were in the military. Air force and navy are not to bad. They tend to a adjust well after a while but marines and army just seem like they got a chunk of their brain missing. Just a word of advice. When your out just forget everything you learned in boot camp. It might just help you.

These people are the people who couldn't make it in the military or never had the balls the join in the first place! The military isn't cut out for everyone, but don't listen to these cry babies talk about how hard it was or how they got lied to because there are hundreds of thousands of people who live, eat, and breathe military! So obviously it works!! It's these peoples fault that they didn't use the resources or get the help they needed to achieve what they wanted not the military's!!!

The comment about the GI bill is a direct lie. I used the GI bill to get my Bachelors and I am completing my Master degree. my son is is using the GI Bill to get his degree.
Any one who puts on a uniform have the opportunity to be kill. HEY, It is the military only a dummy would think they would not get shot at while in uniform. The rules are simple, shoot or get shot. I retired but wished I could have done more.
Uncle Sam paid for my three degrees. The military is not a video game.

Humm, I am enlisted and I know the risks . The risks are this, you may die - period.
They mention a 16 year old enlisting but that 16 year old needs parents permission. The Montomery GI bill is great and I got my Masters from it.
I work with other veterans that have their masters and PHD's -not homeless. Most people get disgruntle when they come in after realizing the sacrifice they have to do. The Female officer I know are not whore or bitches young lady. What a BS video. -War is not a game--

My recruiter didnt lie to me, but did exaggerate at times.. but lets face facts.. if your as naive as the people in this video, you deserve everything thats coming to you... Any one that is joining do some research please and use common sense, if you join the military at a time of war.. GUEST WHAT? you have a pretty good chance of going to war... Sorry but the beginning of the video is just set up to make it seem like a revelation moment. It is 100% true that you arent guaranteed to go to the middle east. we have bases all over the world. Im going to try and go to south korea, i signed up for 13bravo artillery. But i know there is always the chance of going to the middle east. My recruiter didnt lie to me, i know nothing is guaranteed and that i will have to make any sacrifices asked of me. This man is a joke and this video is shit
