  • Gabriela is unbelievably hot.

  • that chick is the epitome of beauty

  • Rodrigo has some interesting faces when he's playing...

  • singers aren't musicians. musicians play a musical instrument. your voice is not, by definition, an instrument.

that said, truer musicians than this, there are not.

  • @artsydrunksy yes it is, don't try and make points when you have no idea what you're talking about, for everyones sake...ok?

  • @artsydrunksy Human voice is considered an instrument. It's obvious that you haven't studied music.

  • 2 dislikes, seriously, great music, period

  • Sounds a lot similar to a trance song named Sailing in the sea of Mushroom by infected mushroom ^^

  • Dios mio Gaby, tus manos son la escalera al cielo.

My God Gaby your hands are THE stairway to heaven

  • Ok, where are they hiding the rest of the band?? ;)

  • there had to be one awkward disliking twonk

  • you can feel hendrix all over this :D

  • @bob0tom Really? I get more of an "acoustic Metallica" feel. They've done about 10 Metallica covers, so they are obviously big fans of theirs

  • @gamer0reloaded listen to voodoo child then listen to this....... you will hear it then :D

  • @bob0tom TBH I was listening to this song earlier (about 20 minutes ago, not here, but on media player) and suddenly I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan, where I didn't before (who was, as I'm sure you're aware, like Hendrix but more bluesy) . Goes to show how good music just continues to surprise you with its depth. So yes, you're totally right :D

  • @gamer0reloaded it's actually called 'Buster Voodoo' because it's a tribute to Hendrix.

  • 2:35 Guess that's where the name fits in.

  • seriously, you all need to grow up and appreciate the music. how childish are u all?

  • Apparently there coming to newzealand :D soooo keeen!!!!!!!!

  • I would really like to know what kind of guitars they have. Because i want one!! it sounds so beautiful

  • @Hotenrod They typically play Frank Tates.

  • This has to be one of the coolest songs, and these two are awsome playing it. I'm very impressed.

  • This performance has everything.

  • i will kill a small animal to spend 1 hour with gabriela solely for some guitar lessons. whos with me?

  • @MrRaunchyrhino23 Don't ask stupid questions!! The correct question is, Who ISN'T with you!? Have a nice day! haha

  • @MrRaunchyrhino23 she's vegan so I don't think she'd go for it- but yeah totally.

  • God, I wish i was awesome.

  • headbanging with acoustic guitars, these two are epic.

  • pick scrape on a classical!

  • someone can say me, where are they from?

  • @zeirasi México, cabroooooon!!!!

  • @zeirasi Mexico, they live and work in Ireland though

  • Someone help me... do they use nylon string guitars?

  • @CNCPROD Yes, they use nylon string guitars. Type in 'Rodrigo y Gabriela Yamaha' in the Youtube search field.

  • @CNCPROD If it isn't nylon, they must have godfingers.

  • acoustic-wah!

  • Wow..Their sound has changed, but they are still amazing!! 4 minutes of great music!!

  • ok im gonna be that noob that knows nothing about these two and ask are they married?

  • @stringlessjoe i dont think they are. good question though

  • yo quiero ser como ellos *O*

  • My wife doesn't understand how I can like "music that doesn't have any words to it"... *sigh* she's got no concept of how hard it is for these guys to be this in sync with each other, to make music with layers to it and complexity and all the stuff you can't even put a title to... Rodrigo and Gabriela have passion and skills that took them years to perfect and they create something that is beautiful and amazing. My wife doesn't get it, but I suppose I love her anyways :)

  • @matrixinterface No, NOOO, you must divorce her!!

  • @TorressssssME Alright, you've convinced me! Begone non-Rodrigo-y-Grabriela-loving-woman! And I'm keeping the youtube and facebook accounts, tell your high priced lawyers that it's not negotiable.

  • @matrixinterface

Keep loving your wife brother! She doesnt understand whats going on over here! But thats ok, if she is a good woman, forgive her. As for this duo, they were paired up in Heaven!!!

  • @matrixinterface Divorce is clearly the only solution.

  • @NickTehNewbie HAHAHAHAHAHA........holy fuck I almost spit my coke out.

  • @matrixinterface She'll understand why in time, don't give up. It takes some time, but you have a life time to convince her... Show her, Steve Vai or something... Maybe Bucket head? Have a great day!

  • @jmt1000 thanks man, already tried Buckethead and Joe Satriani and she just doesn't get it. Apples and oranges I guess! Oh well, no one is perfect (altho there are some who are close to perfection with guitar, I say close because no one WANTS to be perfect)

  • @matrixinterface You'll get there, Try Rush. Anyway, yeah, how much would it suck to play ALL notes perfectly. It would make you get bored... I for one love imperfection and all partners have them, and that's what makes them special, if that comes off as a little cliche'd it's still true.

  • @jmt1000 Yeah, Yo Yo Ma (the great chello-ist) said he decided to play a piece perfectly once. He said it sucked and he never tried to do it ever again. You've got to have feeling and not just hit the notes right. One thing I love about R&G is the way they perform together. You see them watch each other (even if it's just a quick glance every so often) and work off each other.

  • @matrixinterface Yeah, I agree with everything you said. R&G are great musicians. And it seems like they have nothing you give them crap for. As far as they are concerned, I'm glad they give my Mexican Culture a good Rock Image. I stumbled across them completely by chance and they warped me. Especially Gabriela, She's AMAZING, I played this on Rock Band on a demo, and now i'm going to buy the song. As far as perfect music, Live wouldn't be live if it was perfect right?

  • @matrixinterface You should theach her how to play guitar so she can see how hard is it.

  • @matrixinterface ...Well if she doesn't come around on R ye G ... mime her the divorce papers. I drove all my friends and family nuts with these guys after catching them on Late Night last year---they're unbelievable---don't miss some of the generous lessons to their technique that can be found here on You Tube...given by the source.

  • @hunchdrunk they are amazing indeed watch these 2 boys- search, taalbi brothers

  • @matrixinterface true! hey have your wife watch these 2 brothers- taalbi brothers

  • @matrixinterface these guys have more passion and soul and this music has more passion then most music with lyrics and I can see you understand that. Not everyone understands haha

  • @matrixinterface why are you comenting about your wife on youtube? some husband you are.

  • @brazzr he's making an example

  • @Simonsaysxxx bad example???

  • @brazzr Oh, oh! It's the wife!

  • @dizzyman667 funny guy!!!

  • @brazzr i think he was trying to say how much he likes and appreciates there music and justifying what brought him up to this i don't understand why if one person chooses to speak of there spouse that makes them a bad husband im sixteen years old and i understood him to matrixinterface thank you for showing how much work really goes into this im happy to know some people understand good music these days

  • @minicougz447 your a serious lil fuck arent you, everything you just said i already know. but thnx anyway...

  • @matrixinterface dude I get where you're coming from. Instrumental music is emotional expression in its purest form, without the limitations of language getting in your way. Unfortunately, it's also much more difficult to convey and understand, which is why you never see instrumental music on the pop charts. Quite a shame, if you ask me. In a world filled with people like you and I, R & G would be #1 chart toppers and shit like Justin Beiber would never be taken seriously...

  • @gamer0reloaded also an album containing only instrumentals is to be quite honest , boring and one dimensional.....

  • @matrixinterface you need to divorce her. Anyway unable to appreciate the beauty of instrumental music needs to just disappear from this planet.

  • @matrixinterface ditch the bitch and get a dog....at least they can appreciate talent .....and a good bone

  • @matrixinterface Ya so what? I been married 32 years, love all the old rock and a lotta new stuff, my wife dosent like this or understand it, thats life, grow together without pushing it on her, because she doesnt "understand" as you say means you want her to think like you! Be happy in your own world, let her have heres", wanna stay married, enjoy that you have your own voices and styles, I know, I have been there LOL..

  • @matrixinterface

People who don't like "music without words" are pretty much the people who don't read books that don't have pictures ;)

  • @ageetarz Exactly! Music was popular LONG before people were singing over it.

  • @ageetarz What a stupid analogy -_- whatever you can to make yourself feel better, I guess.

  • @matrixinterface You should just tell her to listen to songs in diffrent languages and ask her is she understands that. and also remind her that music in itself is a language as well, and a universal language.

  • @matrixinterface You know that marriage is not gonna last too long...right? (kidding)

  • @ivowizard :) 9 years so far. I've already gotten her hooked on reading fantasy novels now I must slowly convert her to the awesomeness of this music. I'll succeed eventually :D

  • I first heard of these guys when they played this song on Conan last year, and was reminded about them when I saw that they were playing here in LA this week. Sadly, I did not get to see them, but their playing is amazing. It gives me chills.

  • Some of the best acoustic guitar I've heard in a long time!!! These two are incredible!!!! WOW!!!!!!

  • This may be one of the coolest instrumental songs ever! :o

  • @jimmydonut Are you trying to hate on them or like them. This last paragraph doesnt make since ."While I can rhyme I would rather spend my time becoming more skilled at dointg that WHILE playing a musical instrument and coodinating it with the BAND. "Bustin' a Cap" doesn't compare to Buster Voodoo.

So your saying Buster Voodoo is better than whoever did Bustin a Cap. You prob cant even play an instrument. Fucking barney

  • Here's what I don't get. Isn't this the place where we all let the world know what our thoughts and opinions are? Sorry to all the rap lovers out there who are so mortally offended at my comments that they tell me to "fuck off and die". Having studied music for 35 years my OPINION is that it is much harder to do what Rod & Gab are doing thatn what current rappers are doing. They aren't in the same league. But "fuck off and die" for stating an opinion? What's next? A jihad on Rock N Roll?

  • @jimmydonut

Hah, don't worry about it man. People can't seem to comprehend talent these days. It's a god damn fact that guitar playing like this takes more talent then speaking a view words and then adding autotune and a beat to it like most rap artists do nowadays. I would love to hear someone explain how that's false. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some talented rap artists too, but you can't tell me that most rap artists nowadays have little to no talent whatsoever.

  • @jimmydonut

well jimmydonut, the thing is that we ARE expressing our thoughts and opinions. sure, telling you to "fuck off and die" goes a little too far, however, dismissing the entire rap genre as talentless is also uncalled for.

see, you tried to prove through objective means (music studies, where they went to, "bustin a cap") that all rap = crap compared to artists such as rodrigo y gabriela.

  • Hey FL. Thanks for the calm response. And, also, good to see a Tom Petty on ur site. My point is this - as no one seems to be getting. I'm more than sure there are "aritists" ala Dylan among the rap genre. But I think we are all too quick to call something "art". Then when someone questions this the masses start in with the "who the hell are u" response. You would have to live thru the creation of rock and Motown - yes they both have their share of non-artistis - to appreciate what i'm sayin'.

  • the problems that i have with this is that talent is very difficult to define (which comes down to preference), being ignorant about it (main support being little wayne aka. mainstream crap. its like saying some band such as nickelback epitomizes rock), the fact that you complain about personal attacks on the internet (who cares?), and how irrelevant your comments are on this vid. comparing artists within a genre would be more acceptable, but even then it would still be very difficult.

  • Here is what is lost on your age group: you don't see the dumbing down of this culture. Great t.v. with hard-core creative writing is replaced by Jon n Kate, the Khardashian's, Housewives, etc. Great bands and musicians are being replaced by rap -which has their shinging stars but doesn't require the skill actual musicians and "song writers" need to put a, get this, MELODY with a message. Have fun with it. Absolutely. But your age group stands to inherit this "culture" of a dumbed down society.

  • i agree completely that our current culture is going to crap. however, i wouldnt put rap to blame. sure it has it's share of crappy artists, but thats on the RADIO (what you have been referring to). believe it or not, almost EVERYTHING on the radio is crap and dumbs down society. artists get on the radio merely for their marketability, not talent. and since when was having a melody a prerequisite for music? i thought it could come in all forms, its like criticizing this for not having vocals

  • :OO:

  • WOW .... that is an awesome live act. I rarely see guitar players without picks, and is a perfect example of how it allows for infinite sound variations.

  • como se llama el ritmo sobre el que toca?

whats the name of the ritm??

  • Got this album, and it is aaaaallll incredible.

  • The orion cover of Rodrigo y Gabriela is so fucking amazing, like this.

  • Rock Band Network DLC 6/28/2010

  • Here's me thinking @jimmydonut did something wrong, whereas it's the total opposite - everyone having a go at jimmydonut is wrong. He's exactly right - rappers are nothing compared to people like this. Yes, there are talented rappers out there, but half the time they rap about meaningless shit just to get bag loads of money. You can tell with these two that they have so much passion for what they're doing. Shove that up your "bitches and ho's."

  • @RuhBuhJuh1

no,jimmydonut is definitely not right. are you saying a talented rapper is nothing compared to talented musicians like these? no, thats based on preference and not a declaration. sure there are crappy rappers but there are crappy forms of every musician. the problem with jimmy's example of 50 cent and little wayne are that they do not epitomize the rap genre. little wayne and 50 cent are radio artists which the majority of radio artists, despite their genre, suck.

  • @fatlouiethebeast you must admit though that a lot more talent is required in writing music and learning music theory and ur instrument than in having a studio make ur music for you

  • @FerrariGallardo147

yes, you are true that writing music takes more talent than merely performing something that someone else made for you. as for my argument, that has absolutely nothing to do with this. what you are referring to is the radio artists, which studios create music for them despite their genre.

learning music theory, despite what you believe, requires no talent. being proficient in your instrument takes talent, as does being a proficient rapper. im not sure what your point is.

  • @fatlouiethebeast my point is that about 95% of rappers are radio artists and very little rap is actually made by the rapper and very little rap drifts out of the sex drugs and money theme but this is music and while learning music theory takes no talent, being able to put what youve learned in music theory together to make a quality piece takes a lot more talent than talking about 'fucking hoes'

  • @FerrariGallardo147

really, 95%? where did you get this statistical information? maybe the other way around. if you want to make a point, actually have some knowledge of it before you try to argue about it. rap is expression (not all forms, just look outside 50 cent or other similar artists) and very technical in terms of beat, meter, and rhyme. dont be ignorant

  • @FerrariGallardo147

let me ask, how do you measure talent? from your comments, ive concluded that you cannot see talent past your narrow minded perception of it. in my opinion, talent comes in various forms, not one being superior to another.

honestly, i prefer this type of music to rap. however, this is a preference, meaning its subjective rather than objective. you trying to prove this requires more "talent" makes me laugh. this the point i am trying to make.

  • @fatlouiethebeast in my opinion talent is what takes more merit and skill to accomplish. This takes a lot more merit than even a good rapper because this is more skill and merit than some one speaking quickly about their life(yes speaking because that isnt even singing) and making a few beats

  • @FerrariGallardo147

wow, there is absolutely no point in arguing with you. one, your definition is incredibly vague and ambiguous (merit and skill? merit is one one has accomplished, anyone can have merit. skill is pretty much a synonym for talent, which again cannot be compared to through such different genres). two, there goes all the poets too, seeing how rhythm and rhyme mean nothing. three, since when was singing a prerequisite for good music? god, please stop. its so bad

  • The difference between this kind of thing (that takes talent) and something like rap is that given a few minutes I could pretty much "sing" most rap songs. It would take me YEARS to be able to do what these guys do, and even then, probably wouldn't be able to. Sure, I might not be able to compose a rap song, but hey, neither do most of the "rap artists" out there, they pay people to do that for them. That's why this takes talent to perform and rap really doesn't take much. And that's that.

  • I think we can safely conclude that jimmydonut is completely ignorant and should not argue about something he has bare knowledge of. seriously? little wayne and 50 cent? what a moron.

  • @fatlouiethebeast yeah I'm so tired of people like that douchebag

  • ow ow owww lol awesome

  • im complitly agree with jimmydonut in most of his comments

  • I'm not sure who to respond to first. I am positive those who got offended at my comment are under the age where you can remember Lennon/McCartney, CSN&Y, The Temptations, Dylan, etc. NWA? Are you kidding? Merit? Sorry, I'll say it again - rap is part of the dumbing down of America - right there with reality t.v. instead of a show with creative writing. But - it seems to be what the masses want and we all know the mob is usually right.

  • Paco De Lucia>>Rodrigo y Gabriela! i love them both so much tho!!

  • hip hop rules (and so does this).

  • I'm 12 years old and what is this?
