  • This is basically an RS-NOR Latch combined with an AND gate and an XOR gate. The point of it is the basic idea, not how compact it is. You can use it in other things once you understand the principles.

  • oops it was 23rd of febuary 2011 sorry guys

  • @MrPezzmurphy idiot

  • how was it posted on the 23rd of febuary if its the 16th of febuary. Like up so everyone can see

  • how was it posted on the 23rd if its the 16th?

  • OmG your voice!!!

  • lol, these days you can make a 3x4 t flip flop.. how minecraft has changed..

  • or he used Logic gates

  • why dont you take a lever lol ???

  • @bob2000ful *facepalm* some mechanisms need button not lever

  • @HelloPoland Why, this application of a T flip flop is just as effective as a lever, though buttons ARE cooler :P

  • take a lever ?

  • You could also make a simple block swapper with a transparent block and a non transparent block with powered wire leading to where the blocks are swapping

  • @Multi9879 This was how I made a T-flip-flop when I was starting out. I went to design my own. :D

  • OR just a lever

  • @WVDS12 well for doors yes i guess...but levers cant be controlled by redstone signals so its useful for other things.

  • Useless, do A 1 bit memory.

  • PurpleWool.

  • aint that the jk flip flop?

  • The rsnor latch requires two seperate buttons, this only requires on

  • This may seem like a noob question but couldn't you just do this with an RS NOR latch and not use as much space?

  • 1.0.0 version on my channel also more compact don't mean to steal views I'm trying to be helpful

  • PurpleWool

  • RIP headphones users

  • The new way is about 4 times smaller

  • Theres a 10x more easier way on making a T-Flip Flop

  • @LMNTFan I'll make a tutorial on it next week

  • Purple wool

  • plz try and go slower and explain it more

  • I watch your video about 100 times I was thinking to sub u and 100th video I watch I sub u lol

  • thabks so much ive been trying to do this for ages

  • Sooo why don't you just use a lever

  • @Kid0139 With this, you can add another input, say a button somewhere else, so you can, for example, open a piston door, and close it from the inside.

  • @Kid0139 With the t flip flop you can open and close a (example) piston door from 2 ways, with a lever you can only open and close from 1 place. also its great to hide buttons in adventur maps.

  • @zyberpoo Nope, you can use an XOR gate instead of this.

  • @Kid0139 You can make counters as well.

  • If the signal is inverted when the torch is under the door, it doesn't really matter. just hit your switch again and Voila!

  • Now you can make a t flip flop with 2 pistons.

  • Brilliant!! im now using this exact thing on my new Piston Lava Bridge. I thought it was a little complex but you showed me how to put it together and now I can use it just fine, I even buried the wiring so its neat and tidy.

Thanks for making this easy to follow vid.

  • Pls can you make an Picture from above?

  • why not use an rs-nor latch? takes only 3x3

  • lol i ended up making a super fucking fast clock :D

  • PurpleWool

  • Purplewool

    i have no idea why

  • Thanks a lot man, you're the only one who made me understand the build. Subbing ;)

  • PurpleWool

  • pro tip. don't hook up a t flip flop to a portcullis gate. completely fucks it up. i unhooked my t flip flop and went back to a single lever. i now can't get the thing to work properly.

lever pushes gate (fence) up. but pistons don't push it back down. some how the flip flop messed my current gate wiring up.

  • t flip flops allows for multiple buttons right? i can have a button to open the door on either side?

  • YOUR FACE ANNOYES ME!

  • it's not pointless. the door output is just to show an output function. flip flops have many more uses such as binary counters.

  • purple peni- i mean purple wool

  • will another button connected to this also turn it off and on?

  • Purple Wool lol

  • purple wool

  • can i connect this to an Xor gate

  • @legend0fgta yes, its a switch now, in other words, a constant positive output of redstone

  • @legend0fgta but it would be unnecessary, because you could just use 2 inputs

  • that is really pointless stuff... but its cool keep making videos

  • My head hurts...

  • i remember seing something by breny on like a double click lever

  • thank u soo much!!!!!!!

i was looking for this :P

  • Slow the f*ck down!

  • lol it wasnt made by someone randomly placing blocks, redstone wiring is a type of wiring in real life exept its not called redstone wiring. its a type of circut which has 1 or two inputs and one or two outputs (usually). It has 2 states. posetive or negative, on or off, 1 or 0 etc. its used in things like factory lines. and all the logic gates that are in minecraft where made before minecraft.

  • @1wsx10 Hey smartass

  • @1wsx10 How is this type of wireing called?

  • @1wsx10 learn what sarcasm is, thanks

  • or just use a lever XD

  • @tyson5125 in my opinion, they look horrible

  • Easier to make with piston.

  • @Ziiash look at the date of the video bro

  • @XOradamOX

    Oops :D

  • @Ziiash BUT PISTONS MAKE NOISE!! :(

  • I may have done it wrong and turn my airship into crap.

  • @nxidplease the latch requires 2 buttons,while the t-flipflop has only 1 button.

  • another question what is the difference between this and a RS NOR latch?

  • @nxidplease T-Flip Flop= 1 button RS NOR LATCH= 2 buttons

  • so you start by connecting 2, 3-clock together right?

  • @JosephProphet17 its an other kind of Flip flop (maybe RK flip flop ?)

  • can a T flip flop have multiple inputs? like say if you wanted to have a door open and close from BOTH sides?

  • the first thing u did, i just discovered that it's basically two 3-clocks connected to eachother.

  • lol i favorited just so when i fail at it this vid will be easily accessible.

  • Its bad

  • @3:48 , you could invert it, so that your button would turn on your torch to the door, NOT gate and all that jazz, would work with the system you have there :)

  • very easy video step by step

  • heeah

  • I made a toggleable button much easier, make a RS Nor Latch and an AND gate, connect the button to the AND gate and to the RS Nor latch, and the other RS nor latch in/output to the and gate, with some delays so its not activated the same time as the button is, and the and gate output is connected to same output as the RS Nor latch to the AND gate is. Then just use one of the RS Nor Latches as output. If you have an online server, i could show you so you could make a tutorial. Its much simpler!

  • This is not at all randomly discovered. Redstone represents computer logic in real computers. All the logic gates that you build in Minecraft is from the real world, and so is the t flip flop. So if you have knowledge in that, this is easily rebuild in minecraft.

  • There are only 2 good things about this. 1. you can use a button instead of a lever (a button looks WAY better) 2. This send out both a pulse and a holding signal, giving me the option to open a door AND give a alarm singal in the way of a quick flashing torch, WITHOUT having to use more than 1 system. This makes the system more compact. Thanks for making this, it was a great help!

  • input of the and gate, the output of the end gate is connected to the other RS or latch input to reset it on the second click. hope you understood what i said

  • breny i think you know that but ill say it anyway. you said you dont know how the t flip-flop works so here is an explanation:

you make an RS nor latch, you connect the first input of the RS nor latch to the button. the part that remmembers the power is connected to one part of an and gate with a delay of about 1 second. the same button is connected to the second

  • ''your gonna want to'' or ''you want to'' came originally from i believe Yorkshire descent. due to every person i know from Yorkshire decent says that. Including me. (im american btw o_o)

  • Comment removed

  • It's basically an RS NOR latch that has a built in reset system connected to the input.

Once the first initial input is recieved the RS NOR latch triggers, and changes state, opening or closing the door. once the input is recieved again, the RS NOR latch changes again, back to it's origional state. In lamens term, click for on...click for off...

  • it doesn't work right anymore. it keeps blinking on and off when it toggles. what should i do?

  • Isnt this Just like the RS NOR Latch?

  • hyaaaa

  • This have not a fucking thing to do with the door people.

  • whenever i press the button the touches just burnout ??

  • THIS IS WAY TOO FUCKING COMPLICATED' ITS JUST A FUCKING DOOR!!!

  • I HAVE A GREAT IDEA. YOU PUT A SWITCH...NEXT TO THE DOOR. WOAHHH

  • @eagermcbeaver1 problem with that is if you got to the other side and try to close the door the switch that has been activated overwrites the secound switch so being able to toggle doors with a multiple input make life easier once you understand the restone layout

  • i wanted to do this but without all this excissive stuff what shall i do i want it with an iron door ?

  • I merched this one with the rapid dispenser and with a delay i have got 2 dispensers that alternate from shooting

  • lol the door faps

  • actualy they didnt just make this up all the gates and everything are actual components in computers everything you can do with redstone is possable and is used for somthing in your computer

  • voice crack at 0:04 :P

  • It's a rs nor latch plus two memory cells

  • its ask not aks

  • Could you make this with a dispender, so it will keep shooting? please message me back :) ps, i love your tuts ;)

  • @I3L33D3D tutorial coming soon kinda like that.

  • @I3L33D3D It won't keep shooting, it will shoot every other time you press the button. For a automatic dispenser hook one of these up to an inverter and then to a 5 Clock or a Rapid Pulsar.

  • @I3L33D3D Just put a 5 clock connected to the dispenser

  • @I3L33D3D You could link a switch/button/pressure plate to a dispenser which will shoot at item on a wooden pressure plate linked to a clock which is linked to another dispenser, then you will have a dispenser that will shoot until the item despawns.

  • @I3L33D3D just use a 5 clock lol

  • @I3L33D3D use a clock

  • @I3L33D3D make a 5-clock

  • @I3L33D3D Just make a clock with an and gate.

  • ASK! ffs not AKS fucking hell, learn English -.-

  • ASK! ffs nost AKS fucking hell, learn English -.-

  • Or you can just use a switch xD

  • 0:03 voice crack. :P

  • I love the way you say "button". Don't ask me why, it just sounds cool :)

  • @viva0la0life its not just for the door though the doors just to show the inputs and outputs..

  • @BrenyBeast Yah... I know that. I meant to say there are way easier ways to do this.

  • @viva0la0life Make this 10times more compact, add a bunch of minecart stuff, and you got a AWESOME minecart station thingy

  • @viva0la0life Memory latches required input from the opposite side of the circuit to reset. The flip-flop can be reset by the same button/input. Hit button A, turn it on. Hit button A, turn it off.

  • @chardwreck There are much more compact and simple versions of the T-flip flop too.

  • @viva0la0life I'm sure there are but that wasn't the argument you were making.

  • @viva0la0life A t flip flop makes a button behave like a lever, so you will need only one input to turn things on/off, however on the RS NOR latch, you need 2 inputs on to turn on and the other to turn it off

  • World save pl0x.

  • the birdseye idea is perfeckt! u helped me alot

  • i know how to make one with a new repeater!

  • ow great i never understood those

i tried it with memory cell connecting xD

  • Great tut!

  • Finally!! THANKS!!!! <3

  • Isnt this what levers are for o.o?

Kidding, I do see how this could be usefull for a steel door, since using a lever doesnt work because you have to open one, walk through, open the second, walk through, close the first, walk through, close the second.

    So thanks :D!

  • nice tut breny

  • Asked, not aksed :P Good tutorial, as always, Breny.

  • or you could just use a lever. ;)

  • Oh wait, never mind. In this one the wiring would be under the floor :P

  • You should do more hidden wiring, I personally don't like to see redstone and stuff all over if I go into a room >.<

  • i love your videos but why would you wanna make a button that acts like a switch? :s

  • @thundafaceplant 1 it looks better(with underground circuitry)

2 you can put other stuff then manual inputs to work as levers

3 you cant get a door with levers on both sides to work right without circuitry anyway

  • @thundafaceplant because switchs look like shit lol and buttons look better

  • thats a loot of redstone mes

  • i had to thumb up for the return of redstone tutorials! damn

    or is that good? ^^

  • @mrBorkD watch other videos :P

  • and I still hear "Brittany"

  • @adetdardarder the doors just a simple thing Flip flops are just the start of memory on minecraft.

  • @adetdardarder What if it was iron? :P

  • @adetdardarder It's useful for other things too though, like powered rails, note blocks, ect.

  • @adetdardarder That wouldn't be as fun as fucking with a ton of redstone.

  • @adetdardarder but that involves effort

  • or you can make a switch

  • @hall0fgamez the doors just a simple thing Flip flops are just the start of memory on minecraft.

  • @BrenyBeast ok sorry + you are an insane commantater

  • i made a very explained tutorial on the new repeaters here /watch?v=pccfBTvhykw

  • Ehh..

    Im lousy with Red stones.

But i kindda dont get the system why must it be so much complicated. O.O

  • @SnowAkantor watch my previous videos for more simple things

  • Breny <3 redstone

  • Geez breny, I can barley make an iron door, and you made this 0.0

  • very cool :D

  • if u have the new update there r these smaller repeaters

  • @SoooDumb11 yeah i made it yesterday pre-update
