When you finally sit there and play power chords and tremolo picking, how is a song like Master of Puppets any different from a Death song? (granted I hardly listen to death...) but still, the only thing that's on a truly more technical level is a wormed song or something by Malmsteen.

Try looking at Death's later stuff, specifically from Human, Indiviual Thought Patterns, or the Sound of Perseverance. Their earlier stuff isn't especially difficult to play, but those three have some crazy ass riffs and solos on them.
