This season 5 is so incredible and so are your videos! Thank you for posting them and making me love Owen & Cristina...I never was a fan of Greys Anatomy, but now I am. The icicle is a metaphor. A poster on another video pointed this out. The icicle is Cristina's coldness. Think about Cristina in the season premiere. She goes, "You pulled out my icicle. I didn't give you permission to do that." Owen replies, "So?" That conversation was foreshadowing.

It explains their relationship. She wasn't expecting/wanting to fall in love with another attending. But Owen came, pulled out the icicle, and changed everything. He is breaking the ice around Cristina's heart.
