I am not trying to offend anyone here, so please don't confuse my intentions...but, I'm a firm believer in anything and everything can be healed, but not by an allopathic doctor. Most people don't realize that doctors don't thoroughly study nutrition and especially herbs. I believe there's a cure right here on Earth and from Earth. What does western medicine EVER cure? Absolutely nothing, they treat your symptoms. Everything from hypertension to HIV is simply treated
@hellokittycutie2003 These are the same doctors who say diet has very little to do with acne. These are the same doctors who say cancer cannot be cured, yet many people are still on this Earth and actually cured because they took measures into their own hands. These are the same doctors who will KILL your thyroid gland instead of finding out why it's malfunctioning and fixing it (and many times it's dietary reasons). Think about it!
@hellokittycutie2003 I'm not all about "fuck the man" (excuse my cursing), but their are a lot of misguided people who happen to have M.D.s. We're so "advanced," yet people are getting sicker and sicker. Did you know the US has the 2nd largest infant death rate in the world vs most of the countries using midwives? I mean the proof is in the pudding, but you first have to open that lid and find out for yourself. This isn't conspiracy either, this is cold hard research!
See the key word sweet pea is SENSE which most don't exercise when it comes to wanting something to believe in! This not so strange on the new OWN network there is a pastor right her in the USA claiming to heal folks and giving them a date when this should happen. So just 1 more bulls*&t hoaxer selling shattered dreams and broken promises! He should be horsed whipped!
I'm sure this has already been stated a million times but I'm not going to scroll through comments.. I think the people that were told they were cured wanted to believe it so badly that they didn't get the checkup because they knew it probably wouldn't be true. I agree 100% with CrazyMan0686: "Last time I checked God is wise and powerful, but he wouldn't want us to die because of a false prophet."
It is a tragic story. I do believe that God can heal, but these religious people just made other Churches especially pentecostal churches who believe in the laying of the hands look bad. But I would not stop taking my medicine unless I had proof from the doctor. Not doubting God. If he said God has healed me I will believe it, but I would still seek treatment. I don't buy the conspiracy theory. God still wants us to use wisdom. This coming from a pastor.
That is so tragic. It reminds me of my best friend who died in 1995 (we were 34). He'd gotten involved in this "Holy-Roller" sect when he was diagnosed with AIDS that convinced him that he was possessed by the Devil because he was gay, and told him to rebuke me because I was a bad influence and he would be cured; and so he did. He died that same year. I doubt that any of those misguided souls even remember his name. The irony is is that this "bad influence" is still here and HIV negative.
I had to write AGAIN on this one. When it comes to "church", the reason that A LOT of concepts don't jell with me is because I am a firm believer in personal accountability. Often times when it comes to "God told me to tell you, blah, blah, blah...." it results in the person(s) not taking anymore responsibility because at the end of the day, "Jesus paid it all." That really angers me. And as a result of that, now this group of hopeful people are now dead. SENSELESS!
As SOON as you said "This Pastor said..." my radar went OFF!!!!!! This is a BIG reason why I have problems with church. I am still spiritual, but I'm not in any way delusional. Many of these churches convince/persuade people to live senseless lives of self-deceit and denial. It's nuts. We have to use wisdom in EVERY circumstance. A mess! WOW!
If you don't go to your pastor for a toothache; flu; common cold; etc. why the hell would anybody go to him for anything else related to medicine? Short story...a pastor at the church I grew up in is married, but had a child with another woman in the congregation. Quite the scandal, huh? This same pastor refused to Christen a baby belonging to an unwed couple; telling them that it's a sin against God. No disrespect to pastors, but God doesn't need a right hand man. I agree; see your doctor.
LOL Oh, I actually stopped going to that church because of the hypocritical pastors. I have plenty of "short stories" about that place, but ain't enough hours in a day to tell them all. LOL
I have very little trust in modern medicine and my intuition tells me taking meds is not necessarily the answer to an HIV+ result. Most doctors do not care about you and are looking to make money from the pharma industry. From what I've read and heard, the meds are what really make you sick because they're so toxic. If I were diagnosed with HIV or something serious and I wanted therapy, I'd invest in a herbal practitioner. But again, I don't blame you or anyone else who takes meds. Peace.
I recommend as you've said Trav for individuals to use what should be common sense as well as research. We are equally responsible for our health and we can not leave it solely to the responsibility of physicians nor preachers or anyone. Thanks Trav for a very informative and thought provoking presentation..as usual. Luv1
It's definitely unfortunate that those persons loss their lives to the ignorance of their Pastor. On the other hand I wouldn't necessarily be so trusting of traditional medical practitioners either. While they let us in on a variety of things, they shut us out on a great deal regarding HIV/AIDS. It is true that some herbs or natural foods affect retroviruses. However, due to a lack of funding for herbs that can't be patented( they can't make a lot of money), the studies are incomplete.
I learn so much from watching your videos. I appreciate your ability to put things into perspective so even the lamest person can be able to understand. Xoxo.
Thanks for sharing this, hopefully people will remember to use that brain of theirs that God gave them....crazy the influence gain from others and also crazy how people of so called "higher powers" abuse these "powers" to be deceptive and falsify things
Usually, they tell support workers what's going on and we can step in before too much damage is done. Sadly though, sometimes they don't tell us and they get sick and die. This is why I believe it has to be drimmed into people's heads that the medication does not eradicate the virus, ony keeps it under control. It's easy to look at people and call them stupid or say that they lack common sense. That may be true but I can understand where they're coming from. I blame the pastors.
We have to understand that we're talking about Evangelical pastors and Africans. I'm not saying Africans are dumb - I'm an African myself - but we do have a belief in pastors and Christianity that sometimes defies logic. When these people, after taking their meds for a while, are told by the doctors treating them that their viral load is undetectable and they repeat this to their pastors, it's not surprising if they believe what the pastor tells them, i.e. that they've been healed.
@africanscribe I agree we are to believe God not the Pastors. They are just messengers. As a minister of the Gospel if God said that someone was healed through me , I would tell them also to get see a doctor and not to take their meds. Since God is wise, he wouldn't tell us to stop taking medicine until we saw a doctor to confirm the healing. Last time I checked God is wise and powerful, but he wouldn't want us to die because of a false prophet.
@crazyman0686@crazyman0686 if only those who need to hear you could hear you. I agree with everything you say but I think we're preaching to the converted here. These preachers are predators and they prey on vulnerable and misguided people who believe they're more than what they are. Check out this documentary a friend of mine made here in the UK some time ago. It's not about HIV but it will give you an idea of the kinds of people we're talking about.
@crazyman0686 Oops! Sorry, I thought I'd be able to include the youtube link but they won't let me. It's called "Unreported World: Nigeria's Millionaire Preachers."
I am so sick of people using God for their twisted bullshit. You're right, people need to be responsible for their own health and not some man who doen't have any more access to God than anyone else. You can say that again. "that's not God"
WOw.. I cant Believe how people can take avantage of people for money... take advantage of their health for a offering.. They knew good & well that they wasn't curing anyone. If they actually believed it, they would've spoke the reporter when they announced they had a camera present. People!! Just use your common sense.. This is ridiculous!
Like your thinking....and you get across your points very clearly.
I started researching the topic of HIV since my best friend was told he was HIV+
Keep up the good work...keep the video's coming.
Thanks
