Actually, the colour of the diamonds depends not on where you kill the baddies, but where they land. Small but significant difference

you can get diamonds by dropping rainbows ON the enemies or crushing rainbows that are BENEATH the enemies when they touch them

the order of the enemies is diamond-diamond-item, but it is better explained on tjasink rainbow island page; I can't post its web address, but if you google "tjasink" you will be answered many question

Colour depends on where on the screen you kill the baddies. From left to right - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
