My boyfriend is a Capricorn...and a nutty ninny neerdowell nincompoop who needs to be smacked out of his nightmare...no more cNN or weather chaNNel (but I still love him!) :)
God I so loved this when I was little, still do. thanks for posting and allowing everyone to relive a part of their childhood.Life is so rush, rush, rush now a days, it sure is nice to slow down for a moment and take a look back at a time when things were so simple and enjoyable in our lives.
Nancy doesn't get any respect. After all the verbal abuse, she had a nervous breakdown. She then changed her lifestyle by getting rid of the napkin, put on a necklace, and stopped nibbling on her nails. She still gets ridiculed by granny nanny about her new hobby of noticing noodles. Give her a break! I think she should take her nightingale and move far away from Nantucket.
Oh I love the music! Back then there was always a great variety of musical styles from jazz to this sweet, childlike, Beatrix Potter sound whenever these types of sketches would come on. As a child they taught me alot
I haven't seen this in about 35 years! My name is Nancy and I have been telling my kids (hee hee) about this segment and how the neighborhood kids (hee hee) tortured me for years! They just saw it with me. It's even worse than I recall : ( I mean what other name did they do such an injustice to?
I remember this as a kid I used to sit down watching this with a drink of water and nibbleing on my nails. But I don't nibble on my nails anymore I have nice lovely long sharp nails. I still love this segment I would love it on DVD and I wish I had a pet nightingale and a beautiful lovely necklace like Nancy. I liked Nancy the nannygoat, her grandma and the pet nightingale I still do. Because my Nanna looks like the granny nannygoat because she knits alot just like her. I give it 1000 stars.
I remember this - a creative collection of 'n' words that one can call 'noteworthy nonsense.' That is, even if something doesn't appear to make sense at first, the fact that someone was able to come up with such an idea deserves notice.
I've heard this music somewhere before, but it was'nt on this. Instead it was on an old VHS that I still own where Bill Cosby tells aesop's fables to two kids in a forest.
Has there been some unquestionably verified, completely objective study, that declared "Material this whimsical and intelligent has irreparably harmed the development of young children into responsible adults"? Um, no. It just isn't cost-effective, and doesn't sell merchandise, like good ol' Elmo (cough cough).
Nancy's nana sure is a nagging nuisance. Nancy should tell her to notice her needlpoint instead or she'll nudge her towards the nearest nanny-goat nursing home.
I just listened to it again and you are right it is "nutty" not "naughty". Im surprised that they said "nutty" on Sesame Street but yet again it is an old skit.
i was little and got a cat who was kind dumb so i was watching this and called my cat ninkumppoop she didn't have a name atthis time so since then it just stuck lol so when ever i saw this i would think of my cat
I adore the music in this one. It's so sweet! The least the other nannygoats could say after she put on that nifty necklace was "Nice", "Nifty" and "Neato"!
OYE!NICE to kNow that video still is N-joyed by fellow aNimators, this spot was done by me aNimation meNtor Tee Collins who also did Wanda the Witch... eNjoy!
At 37 years old I admit that I still bite my nails sometimes...and whenI do I always hear "Nancy! Don't be a ninny! Never nibble on your nails!" Too bad it doesn't seem to work....:)
"Instead of nibbling her nails, she started to notice noodles." I love this cartoon, the dialogue, the music, everything. Did anything ever come of that Nancy the Nannygoat / Wanda the Witch spinoff that was rumored to be in the works? No I'm joking of course.
oh I love you, love2register, now if you post either the scary 'louis & bob paste up the train tunnel billboard' OR (oh please!!!) the animated bit where the girl talks to the cracks on her walls in the shapes of animals I will pledge allegiance to you daily...
Yes, the scary train tunnel billboard clip was hands down the scariest clip from Sesame Street. I would run out of the room crying when I was little. I can perfectly remember the music they played, which made it all the more disturbing to me.
That train tunnel skit scared the hell out of me! That and the bert/ ernie counting balloon reminded me of night terrors, which I suffered from, for some reason.
Be yourself, Nancy! I always wondered why the other nannygoats cared what she wore round her neck.

Around her neck she wore a narrow napkin? That really IS weird. I wonder what brand it was...perhaps Kotex.
Did they ever show this in other English-speaking countries?

OMG!!!! You found it!!! I have been looking for this one. None as my friends seem to believe me when I say the Nancy the Nannygoat existed....
even though the other Nannygoats are quite mean, it was always just cute to me. I guess this got me into Alliteration in my writing.
Thank you!!!!
