  • at that time the soldier had to serve for a period of 16 years not 20

  • The Roman Army was very structured, however it's orginization changed with the passage of time. In the time of Caesar the smallest unit was the Century comprised of 80 men and commanded by a "Centurion." Two centuries made a Maniple. Three maniples composed a Cohort with 480 legionaries and 10 cohorts made up a Legion which formed in battle order in three lines. The basic equipment of a legionnaire composed of: a helmet, a breastplate of chain-mail, a dagger, a circular or rectangular...

  • ...shield, a sword, and a throwing lance (in English we'd say javelin or the Roman pilum). At the end of a march the legions would always make camp in the same layout, however the size varied on it was sheltering a Cohort, a Legion, or and entire army. If the army was going to be stationed a long time the camp would be made semi-permanent or permanent being made with more durable materials. Surrounded by a ditch and a wall and of a rectangular plan (not sure about this part) it was served ...

  • ...by two great roads that ended at four gates. The major parts (of the camp) were the Preatorium where the general staff resided, ant the Forum where military assemblies were held. The legions placed themselves in parallel rows of tents (not sure) the last of which was the Centurion's. The legionnaires joined the army to serve, after a period of instruction, for 20 years. The legionnaires' camps spread out through the Empire assured the protection of provinces of such vast territory that...

  • ...they contained 60 million inhabitants.

I'm not a posting expert so you have to read backwards. Also I do not speak Spanish so the translation is by no means perfect.

  • The language is Spanish. My english is very small, so you can translate this in Google:

    Part 1:

Thats all, I hope this can help you, bye
