I have looked all over the web for a simple arrangement and I love the simplicy you have captured in your performance. I am a grandfather to 26 grandchildren and would love to have the tabs so that I can impart this to another generation.
To other people you've said to e-mail and you would send the tab.... Could I contact you in the same form? I just don't wish to suddenly e-mail you unexpectedly..
This is a brilliant acoustic version, and I really would love to learn it~
Hi Richard, Being half Welsh and living on the border of England and Wales I've listened to this song in many forms but your acoustic version is simply wonderful. If possible notation or tabs would be appreciated. Topslack
Just beautiful! thank you for sharing it. I'm playing this on harp and was looking for other versions. Its just as beautiful on your guitar as it is on harp.
Thank you so much. What a blessing it is for me to find this. I made a little slide show of some photos I took of the lunar eclipse and thought it would be nice to add some music. Would you mind if I added your beautiful recording of "All Through the Night" to it?
I love your arrangement. You express the song perfectly on your guitar--so sweet and loving. How could any child refuse to go to bed listening to such a beautiful song? The song gives of feeling of hope & comfort. I absolutely love it. Play more.....I insist...

Saw Earnest Borgnine sing a short clip of this song on a Hallmark Chanel show and had to find it. Yours was the first I found. No need to look further. You play it beautifully!!! Brought tears to my eyes. I will learn the words and sing it to my grand baby.
This is such a beautiful song and you play beautifully. My mother sang this to me many, many nights when I was small and hearing it again brought tears to my eyes! I plan ot share this song w/ my own children, when I have them. Once again, simply beautiful!
you played that perfectly! i love this song i have seen so many people destroy it and you just put it back to its natural beauty. thank you so much i can now sing this song and have it sound great with your wonderful music.
This is so beautiful. I have been trying to find lullabies. I don't have children, I just love lullabies. I guess I am a child myself because im only 14...Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing this! I was looking for 'music inspiration' as I recently did a slight rewrite of the original lyrics, which I am planning to record soon. This video helped a lot! Thank you!
I thought of it again when looking over the tracklist for the new Queen/Paul Rodgers cd and one of their new songs is called All through the Night. I'm sure it's very different! LOL
I am actually a little surprised to find it as a lullaby. I know it as quite a dramatic though beautiful sing in which someone is waking by the side of their lover, who is dying — and actually dies within the scope of the song. But I guess it works very well as a lullaby, whichever was the original intention.
Your version of this song inspired me so much, I recorded to it! Don't worry, I am not a professional and will not be selling this or anything. I wanted to thank you so much for posting on youtube. You are gifted and thank you for sharing said gifts as gifts.--
that is wonderful! it makes me cry a bit, my mom always sang this to me every night when i was a little girl. thank you soooooo much for sharing this! =D
Thank you for this beautiful lullaby! When my dog was dying, I played this for him on my cello and it was the only thing that could help him sleep at night.
I first heard this song on the video "A Childs Christmas in Wales" is our favorite christmas show, my daughter loves your playing, she was given a guitar 3 years ago, and this is the first time she wanted to learn, because of your playing her favorite song, great job, we both love it
"Always on Christmas night there was music. An uncle played the fiddle, a cousin sang "Cherry Ripe," and another uncle sang "Drake's Drum." It was very warm in the little house. Auntie Hannah, who had got on to the parsnip wine, sang a song about Bleeding Hearts and Death, and then another in which she said her heart was like a Bird's Nest; and then everybody laughed again; and then I went to bed. ...Dylan Thomas
you know the poem, I love this one from Dylan Thomas and movie does it justice and the song is such a perfect ending, thank you again for another great memory for Christmas
Can you please tell me if this song has been sung by a choir? I have memories of this song, but sung in Welsh by a choir...any help? Thank you! Absolutely beautiful!!!!
Sorry, I can't say if it has or has not been sung by a choir. I know it from a vinyl LP titled "Peter Paul and Mommy" by Peter Paul and Mary that I purchased for my daughter some time in 1974-1975.
This is very beautiful. I have been looking for this song for a very long time. I don't think I have heard a better version of it. You have a wonderful talent. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
That is so beautiful! :D You have quite a talent, but then that's to be expected since by the sound of it, and since u say in the mid 70s u've played guitar for quite some time. I can't stop listening to it. hehe.
