In all honesty i do not think there can ever be total control of the Internet as people find loopholes or ways round the problem. The very design and structure of the internet means that control is very difficult if not impossible. As i have mentioned in another comment even in the Police State that is the Peoples Repblic of China there is still some degree of freedom on the internet for those with knowledge.

it is.:) thank you very much for bringing this to my attention....I'm not a young person, I'm a middled aged father that believes in free speech and the idea that america should be a place where people can agree to disagree. the internet is the only place that we truly have freedom in america. and I for one will fight for the only thing we have left.

It is not just the national aspect but the global aspect we should all be worried about. Americans, Europeans and Asians are all in this together. But yet there is hope as the very design and idea of the internet means that there will never be total control. Even in The PRC people can still evade the massive state control of the internet.
