Nice Tribute, I have been curious about that facility north of Santee I heard about in High School. I am reading about some of Sycamore Test Site Site in a Book by Chuck Walker :"ATLAS the Ultimate Weapon"That tunnel is the Cable tunnel The water to cool the rocket blast was supplied by the city of poway. The Water problem and the Diversion of the blast were great challenges. the site was built in 1955 and the Missile was assembled one year later.The book describes in detail ,

Yeah I have quite a few stories from there. Once we locked the security guards in that was a good one. We watched from a nearby hill. They were baffled. Good times :)

I used to ride my motorcycle through Sycamore Canyon as a kid, Always stopped by and jumped the fence to check it out. Gotta love it!
