Dieppe Raid - Escape & Aftermath footage

There's been a heap of doco's over the years but the one that does stand out is "The World At War", so if there are any young ones who want to know how things were, watch that series first.

There was too much death as well as one too many f-@k-ups; most of my family missed being in Europe, we were either in PNG etc, or Nth Africa...the Canadians did very well considering what was in front of them, poor buggers.

There's a great book on Dieppe called "Dieppe: The Shame and the Glory", featuring pretty gritty first hand accounts of the raid. If you can find a copy, pick it up!

The tickle in your stomach, when you are being chased by a whole german army trying to get to a boat that is beggining to leave... Im surprised they havent made a movie of it...
