Bulgaria has had and still has problems absorbing the money from the EU. Therefore, a very small percentage of the funds have actually been absorbed. You shouldn't worry about the tax money of the people of Europe- the influx is being strictly controlled as of now.

Greece's existence as a national state is pretty much shorter. Joining the EU and eventually adopting the Euro will give them economic leeway that they probably didn't have before. And Bulgaria as a whole was not necessarily eager to join the EU, the perspectives of the EU's effectiveness are rather diverse, as they are in most EU member states. Remember, it was in my country (Sweden) where a little over half of the population opposed the Euro, so many are still fighting this concept in their own minds.
There are many reasons why Turkey joining the EU is more of a problem than Romania or Bulgaria. Sadly it isnt all Turkeys fault, The fact the Union would border countries such as Iran, Syria and Iraq if Turkey joins concerns alot of people.
There is also the problem of size. Turkey would be the second most populated nation in the Union, that is a major shift in power and yes religion is part of that problem.

You know that there are some Romanians and Bulgarians who speak Turkish. i listened to thme and they came here after eu membership and they are seeking job, they say that they are here for new, qualify life. So in italy there is no job for extracomunitary people even RO and BG people. Because of this they are without job here and situate around Central station. To all Bulgarian/Romanian (but also Greek - and you have been around for quite some time) viewers- . In all honesty: when you wanted to join the EU- did you want to (re)join your European family members or were you after the money ?

now the problems that Bulgaria is facing are no new problems to the EU. The whole of southern Italy is absorbed by the mafia, which controlls pretty much everything. Let me tell you that Bulgaria certainly is not Europe's most corrupt country, as many recently claimed. The problems of Bulgaria simply came out, which is a good thing.

so I guess what I am trying to say is that whereas there are still countless issues to be solved in the Bulgarian public sector, the country is slowly finding its real place within the Union. Till the present day, Bulgaria has paid more for its membership fee than it has absorbed in form of cohesion funds. So you shouldn't worry about money disappearing.

While I certainly agree that Bulgaria has its specific problems with tackling corruption and organized crime, declaring Bulgaria for Europe's most corrupt country is a bunch of cr@p. Corruption is everywhere and Italy certainly has more problems with mafia and organized crime than Bulgaria.
Anyways, publicity is a good thing, let's hope things will change once for all.

you cannot expect a real change in behavior of the public administration within only 2 years. I can honestly say that things are changing for the better as far as absorption goes. Stealing in the future will be practically impossible.
Don't forget that Greece, for instance entered the Eurozone with false data about its financial system and is now experiencing problems exactly because of this.

Joining the EU and eventually adopting the Euro will give them economic leeway that they probably didn't have before. And Bulgaria as a whole was not necessarily eager to join the EU, the perspectives of the EU's effectiveness are rather diverse, as they are in most EU member states. Remember, it was in my country (Sweden) where a little over half of the population opposed the Euro, so many are still fighting this concept in their own minds.

There are many reasons why Turkey joining the EU is more of a problem than Romania or Bulgaria. Sadly it isnt all Turkeys fault, The fact the Union would border countries such as Iran, Syria and Iraq if Turkey joins concerns alot of people.
There is also the problem of size. Turkey would be the second most populated nation in the Union, that is a major shift in power and yes religion is part of that problem.

Oh, again we see Bulgaria's collaboration with their German brothers. Bulgaria knows full well that Germany controls the European Union that's why they joined the EU. You see on this video that Bulgarian soldiers are duck marching just like the Nazi German Wehrmacht did. Why has Bulgaria always looked up to Fascism. You know that there are some Romanians and Bulgarians who speak Turkish. i listened to thme and they came here after eu membership and they are seeking job, they say that they are here for new, qualify life. So in italy there is no job for extracomunitary people even RO and BG people. Because of this they are without job here and situate around Central station. Ako vlizame v EU s tozi negativen nachin na mislene, naistina niama da ni dovede do nishto dobro. Predi da zapochnem da narichame Evropeicite "maloumni", da ne zabraviame, che i nie sme edni ot tiah. Sqshto, ako napravim sravnenie mejdu Bqlgaria i Zapadna Evropa, razlikata e dosta goliama.Ochevidno e, che imame nujda ot tiahnata pomosht. Stranite na Zapadna Evropa sa organizirani, standarta na jivot e visok, ikonomikata e bumtiashta, razvitieto im e postoianno i stabilno.

Lets face it, the country was a complete mess until now, so obviously we weren't doing very well on our own. Stop crying about the past and do something positive with your life. The world is changing, embrace it. All of the countries that are successful today have worked very hard for it. I am Bulgarian and proud to be one. I am extremely happy that Bulgaria has joined the EU.

I can't believe that I am reading negative comments from Bulgarians about the EU. Please people, stop being so paranoid, no one is out to get you. No one will exploit you if you don't choose to be exploited. The EU will bring so much business and so many opportunities to Bulgaria. It is all a process. Think about the big picture and be happy that you are in. You will start seeing the changes very soon.
