It is a Pastor looking at his son in an error that he doesn't want to acknowledge. Its similar to a parent and child saying say sorry to your sibling and they disregard them. Morton!! We are looking for a Mega pastor who is really Christlike. Every month, there is more drama in the Church. TD Jake is the ONLY one that did it right and showed a Christlike spirit. @mrbilingual Numbers don't make a church and having a lot of members doesn't make you successful or productive. Sad to say there is jealousy in the Christian community, but because Morton spoke out doesn't mean he is a hater. It means he cares for Long. He did his job as a pastor, friend, and man of God. If any calls should have been answered it should be at least the man that God used to release him. That's like Timothy ignoring Paul on sound Godly advice in regards to church.

I agree with you, but that is not my contention. I stand by my claim that the pulpit is NOT the place for gossip. Jesus said that if you have a probem with your brother, go to your brother. He did not say that pastors are exempted. He knows where Long lives, for pastor Long was NOT in hiding. Again, I agree that he should step down (NOT BECAUSE HE IS GUILT). It is the right thing to do until the storm passes over. If he is guilty, he needs to repent, get delivered and be restored.

I think there is a distinction between civil litigation and church policy. Here, Morton is placing an undue burden on Long that may breach the terms of his mediation while gaining political points as the "new kid on the block". Long foreknew the consequences of his actions. If Long has repented, then why is Morton creating a policy in response to this scandal? Take a wild guess...

God bless Bishop Morton for having the courage to tell the truth. To all of you who are defending bishop long just because "YOU" don't know what "YOU" would do if you were in his shoes". What "YOU" would do if "YOU" were in his shoes doesn't matter. God's orders are confess and repent. You don't get God's forgiveness, restoration...or any other blessing for that matter unless you do it God's way.
Personally I'm sick of all Church Folk!! Everybody got a scripture and advice for some1 else. I mean NO ONE is perfect however, we all are not facing these allegations. When was the last time his church had a service dedicated solely to prayer as Scripture says the church is suppose to be a "House of Prayer" for all nations. But no Morton is too busy promoting his church CD's, and attending gospel concerts or gospel competitions. No wonder the black community is in such shambles. The church used to be the stronghold of the "black community", when the pastor worked and did not fleece his flock.
The Bible left a blueprint for the church and its leaders to follow in Acts 2:40-47. Just as a architect, engineer, and builder have to follow the blueprint plans to build correctly, why hasn't the contemporary church followed the blueprint of the Holy Bible. Where in Scripture do you find singing pastors? What happened to the boys is wrong no two ways about it. but if you listen to Bishop Morton the Bishop that installed him. Morton says he was talking to him in the beginning, but then Eddie stopped. We are going on a fast on behalf of Bishop Long. Who will join with us? This "kind" comes out through prayer and fasting. Our fight is with demonic forces, "principalities" and "powers" these are "fallen" demon spirits that are in play here. Bishop Morton is correct by following the Word requiring Bishop Long to repent (which he must do) then we (which are spiritual) can restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering ourselves, lest we also be tempted. Morton!! We are looking for a Mega pastor who is really Christlike. Every month, there is more drama in the Church. TD Jake is the ONLY one that did it right and showed a Christlike spirit. Ministers gossip more than sinners, for they see it as being sanctioned by God. Pastor Morton should have said "We should always pray and not get personally entrapped in a satanic web of juding, for it is a trick of the devil."
Pastors are haters, and Long has a 30,000 member church.

@mrbilingual Numbers don't make a church and having a lot of members doesn't make you successful or productive. Sad to say there is jealousy in the Christian community, but because Morton spoke out doesn't mean he is a hater. It means he cares for Long. He did his job as a pastor, friend, and man of God. If any calls should have been answered it should be at least the man that God used to release him. That's like Timothy ignoring Paul on sound Godly advice in regards to church.

I agree with you, but that is not my contention. I stand by my claim that the pulpit is NOT the place for gossip. Jesus said that if you have a probem with your brother, go to your brother. He did not say that pastors are exempted. He knows where Long lives, for pastor Long was NOT in hiding. Again, I agree that he should step down (NOT BECAUSE HE IS GUILT). It is the right thing to do until the storm passes over. If he is guilty, he needs to repent, get delivered and be restored.

I think there is a distinction between civil litigation and church policy. Here, Morton is placing an undue burden on Long that may breach the terms of his mediation while gaining political points as the "new kid on the block". Long foreknew the consequences of his actions. He needs to repent of his ungodly, unbiblical, money-hungry ways. When was the last time his church had a service dedicated solely to prayer as Scripture says the church is suppose to be a "House of Prayer" for all nations. But no Morton is too busy promoting his church CD's, and attending gospel concerts or gospel competitions. No wonder the black community is in such shambles. The church used to be the stronghold of the "black community", when the pastor worked and did not fleece his flock.

That's not repentance also if you listen to Bishop Mortons announcement he says he was talking to him in the beginning so it obvious if he was talking to Morton in the beginning if Morton hasn't heard him repent or even say he's sorry for what happened, Long is trying not to get caught making a public admission of guilt.

There are rules and regulation that he person ordained and installed by any Bishop are strictly taught so Eddie knew if he sinned or did anything wrong he would have to speak with the heads of the church, but from what Morton was saying he hasn't been able to even get him on the phone. And if Morton installed him it makes it look as if he's in agreement with what went on if he says nothing.

I hear where is coming from. The church trusted this man. I am not passing judgement on his sexuality that's his business but messing with those young boys is wrong. And these parents trusted him! It's the order of the church that ordained him Bishop and Bishop Morton ordained him so he has to do it if not Bishop Long can be removed. And without repentance their is no forgiveness. And if you read you will notice that when the prophet came to David He repented and War was with him until his death because of the sin. Now the Key word is repentance. What happened to the boys is wrong no two ways about it. but if you listen to Bishop Morton the Bishop that installed him. Morton says he was talking to him in the beginning, but then Eddie stopped. Now if Bishop Morton during the times he did actually speak with him never heard him express wrong doing or that he was sorry in anyway. That says a lot and because of the rules and regulations Bishops are held to he does have to repent and discuss the issue with Morton. He needs to take his license.
