anyone here go to the gun shop and by 16,000 rounds at a time of ammo? 16k rounds a second would be 160k per 10 seconds, 960k rounds per minute. At 10 cents per bullet it would cost 1,600 dollars per second.

Kidding aside, the problem is that there's no extra benefit to literally tearing people apart with a gun, and ammunition = extra weight. I forget when, but there was a certain point when militaries decided that more firepower/RPM wasn't the route to take with respect to rifle/machine-gun research.

The countries of Afghanistan and Iraq have terrorists in them that they want to get out as well.
