I love the number of buttons, and especially how they're laid out. It's a lot better than having a ton of buttons far away on a front panel, where you have to bend forward and reach for them to get anything. I've always found more buttons to mean more simplicity for an equal number of functions, because it means that once you know where everything is, it takes just one body movement to do one task, unlike the idrive system.
@TheFerruccio: The i-drive is the worst shit I have ever try, I'm sure thay initially want to do something great, logical and practical but in fact, there are so many useless fonctions, uneasy to reach that you never use them so thanks to the Panamera, simplicity and efficiency!
